Friendships & Paperback Books

July 30 is International Friendship Day, and we are so very thankful for our International group of blogging friends!

❤️ ❤️ ❤️

In addition, due to posting our blog on social media, there are friends from all over the globe with whom I have close relationships.

Am so happy to know you all, and am grateful for each of you.

❤️ ❤️ ❤️

July 30 is also Paperback Book Day.

My childhood was sprinkled with paperback books; most of them where leftovers from my family.

Here are a few that stand out:
Ray Bradbury's The Illustrated Man
My father loved sci-fi, so his paperback collection of sci-fi was a terrific source of reading material.
This book is a collection of short stories, and every one is imprinted on my brain.

Bertrand R. Brinley's The Mad Scientists' Club
I still have this totally beat-up book, which I believe first belonged to my brother.
Six junior genius members of the Mad Scientists' Club investigate a sea monster, the theft of a valuable dinosaur egg, a hot-air balloon race, search for stolen money from an old bank robbery, and more!

Charles M. Schultz's "What Next, Charlie Brown?"
Yep, we bought Charlie Brown comics in paperback, and we had many of them.
The TV programs came along after the books, and we loved them all.

Later, I collected my own paperbacks: Dark Shadows TV show, John Jakes' multiple series, and...don't laugh...Barbara Cartland romances.

So, grab a paperback book today, and enjoy!

Did you know that paperback is short for 'paper-backed' book?

Also used:
-paperbound

Cats really like paperback books, as evidenced in the images below:
