Friendships & Paperback Books

July 30 is International Friendship Day, and we are so very thankful for our International group of blogging friends!

❤️ ❤️ ❤️

In addition, due to posting our blog on social media, there are friends from all over the globe with whom I have close relationships.

Am so happy to know you all, and am grateful for each of you.

❤️ ❤️ ❤️

July 30 is also Paperback Book Day.

My childhood was sprinkled with paperback books; most of them where leftovers from my family.

Here are a few that stand out:
Ray Bradbury's The Illustrated Man
My father loved sci-fi, so his paperback collection of sci-fi was a terrific source of reading material.
This book is a collection of short stories, and every one is imprinted on my brain.

Bertrand R. Brinley's The Mad Scientists' Club
I still have this totally beat-up book, which I believe first belonged to my brother.
Six junior genius members of the Mad Scientists' Club investigate a sea monster, the theft of a valuable dinosaur egg, a hot-air balloon race, search for stolen money from an old bank robbery, and more!

Charles M. Schultz's "What Next, Charlie Brown?"
Yep, we bought Charlie Brown comics in paperback, and we had many of them.
The TV programs came along after the books, and we loved them all.

Later, I collected my own paperbacks: Dark Shadows TV show, John Jakes' multiple series, and...don't laugh...Barbara Cartland romances.

📚📚📚

So, grab a paperback book today, and enjoy!

30 July is Paperback Book Day!

Did you know that paperback is short for 'paper-backed' book?

Also used:
-paperbound
-soft covered

Cats really like paperback books, as evidenced in the images below:

You've Got A Friend

 International Day of Friendship

The International Day of Friendship was proclaimed in 2011 by the UN General Assembly with the idea that friendship between peoples, countries, cultures and individuals can inspire peace efforts and build bridges between communities.

Mr. Puddy

We enjoy friendships with folks from all over the globe:
Israel
Switzerland
Australia
Ireland
Georgia
Portugal
England
Canada
Brazil
Finland
Germany
Poland
Netherlands
Scotland
Poland
Wales
Italy
and one specific friend in Thailand: Mr. Puddy

The Pudster isn't well, and is currently staying over at the veterinarian's office to monitor his lungs.

Many folks in the pet blogging community are friends with Pud and his meowmy, who is beyond worried about her sassy boy.

Any spare purrs and prayers sent to Mr. Puddy are gratefully appreciated.

Puddy's FB page is listed under the photo above, and blog is on the right side --->

Friendship has no boundaries, no social position, no requirements, other than delight in each other's company and words.
😽😽😽

P.S.
If I missed listing any friend's country, mea culpa.

Afterall, The United States is big enough for us to consider parts of it as 'beyond the pale', and most likely a different country from our own wee community in Michigan, and we are gobsmacked every time a European friend takes a holiday, and manages to visit two or three other countries during that time!

Here, we can drive for 8 hours and remain in the same state of the union.

However, we do have Canada to the south, east, and north of our location, so already we feel internationally inclined.
