A Wooly Problem

Ick!
Chucky loves to carry my wooly socks around the house.  Now that the temperatures have fallen some, I actually wear them.  Imagine my surprise when I stepped in...something...but the wooly soaked it all up!

Gross, right?

No worries, Chucky...I've got seven more pairs of woolies for your enjoyment, while this pair is in the laundry!

Cat Gloves

While hitting the resale shops this weekend, I found this pair of cuties for an excellent price.  Brand new, and they fit!  Aren't they cute?  I was hoping that having a new pair of warm gloves meant that Winter is on it's way out, but alas the meteorologists are predicting temperatures back in the average range in the next few weeks, which means just about at freezing during the day, and into the low-20's and teens (Fahrenheit) overnight.  I do not care what the Groundhog says (and I saw it live on TV this morning!)...here in Michigan, it's gonna stay nice and freezy for awhile.  Although I see men in shorts at the grocery store still.  What is with that, anyway?

Brrrr....

Patty and Sweetie yesterday, around 2:30 pm

Patty once again photobombs Sweetie
Yep, 3 degrees was our high temperature!
Patty and Sweetie enjoyed the bright sunshine yesterday, and I was glad that they appeared to be okay.  This frigid air is supposed to last for another couple of days, so you know I'll be watching them carefully. Sweetie had frost on her whiskers this morning!  Couldn't take a photo, with mittens on.

And then:
Temp at home, just before I left the office

ALASKA IS WARMER THAN MICHIGAN!!!!!
Last year was the coldest and snowiest for Metro Detroit.  So why is it colder NOW than last year?  I mean, I feel for the folks out east getting buckets of snow, and down south getting ice and all kinds of nastiness weather.  But c'mon now, Mother Nature!  Ease up on us...please!  My 'o' cats may be hardy, and healthy, and have a nice Cat Hotel, but I'm just beside myself until the overnight temps get into positive territory.  It may be March by the time the jet stream patterns or arctic blasts or Storm Ophelia or Stormin' Norman move along.  Sheesh...

It's 75 degrees!

Where's Angel?

Where's Patty O?

Construction Continues
Just a quick note, so I can go back outside and ENJOY!  Hubby was sawing and nailing today on the 'o' cats crate, so Angel and Chuck missed their early beauty sleep, and now are napping in their favorite beds: Chuck in the bay window, and Angel in the front picture window, where she's curled up and almost invisible.  Patty O'Malley is sleeping in the neighbor's garden, nicely camouflaged in the dry leaves.  There is a cold front moving in later today, which will bring all kinds of wind and nastiness, but I am going out there to enjoy the warmth for now.

My head cold is better, yet I have a tickle in my throat that makes me cough.  I am drowning that with soothing herb teas.  Thanks for the 'get better soon' wishes!

I continue to open and close the drop trap on the deck each day, as an exercise in accustoming Sammy, Mama Mia and Patty to it so that they start ignoring it.  So far, Sammy simply bolts when I touch it, so we've got a ways to go with him.  He's a smarty cat!  But if he's so stubborn, then I'm stubborn too!  He seems livelier, and allowed me to brush his fur yesterday.  That's fine and dandy, but does not shake my determination to get him to the veterinarian.  Just going to take patience and perseverance.
