Chucky Update

"MOM! Take me HOME...NOW!!!"
Chuck waits for the vet to arrive
Chuck and I visited The Animal Clinic of Sterling Heights yesterday, as it was time for his check-up, and we had noticed that his breathing seemed a bit labored.  The doc listened and x-rayed, and decided that Chuck has a little too much fluid in his body, but luckily it wasn't around his heart or lungs.  She upped his Lasix (diuretic) daily pill amounts, and even gave him a shot of Lasix too.  I am to call her back today, to tell her how he's doing.  Chuck had lost a bit of weight too, but only a couple of ounces.  She said this fluid build-up is a symptom that can be easily managed.

Once again, Angel hissed at Chuck when we got home, because the vet tech who carried him to the x-ray room apparently took a bath in perfume, and he simply reeked of the smell.  The Hubby spent some quiet time with one hand on Angel, and the other on Chuck as they lay side-by-side after dinner, and he managed to calm them both into rumbles of purrs and then naps.  I got no such treatment, so I took off for a walk around the neighborhood to steady my nerves.  Breathe in, breathe out.  I had wrapped my scarf around and over Chuck while we waited, in hopes that it was a protective force-field, keeping the dog barks, baby cries, and general hubbub from overpowering my sweet kitty.  AND my brand-new cell phone wasn't receiving everything it should, while I fretted that I was missing work-related items, and personal texts and emails too.  Phooey, as Phoebe from 15 And Meowing always says!  Office I.T. fixed everything up nicely today, so that's that!

  2. We send lots of purrs to Chuck...and to you too. The mom knows all too well how stressful it is when a furbaby isn't quite 100%.

pee ess...because Wally always hisses at me when I come home from the vet, he now has to go with me whenever I go...funny, I never hiss at him when he comes home from the vet...even when he spent 4 days in the hospital...not one hiss from me. ~Ernie

Boo hiss for the smelly tech - that should not be allowed in a workplace.

  10. Poor Chuck! Our mom had a double round at the vet with Louie this past week. $750 worth of tests and x-rays revealed NOTHING, and now he's back to his sassy self! We kitties can cause our moms a lot of worry.
