During the deep cold that we've recently experienced, I found myself more than once wanting to check on Chuck, who usually slept in the blanket-draped rocking chair. You had to lift the blanket to see him! The Hubby and I miss him; we talked about Chuck when out at lunch this weekend. It's kind of hard to talk about him while at home; why is that?
Yes, it sure is difficult, but talk, he hears you. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteWhen our Tucker died, I looked for him for a long time. Sending love and hugs.
ReplyDeleteChuck's portrait is amazing !! I think it's easier to talk about Chuck when your out, because you are not "near him" as you are when you're home; it's his home too...does this make sense ?? ♥♥
ReplyDeletePeep #1 still misses Nissy. You'll miss Chucky forever, I think, but at some point, the pain of missin' him will be replaced by the fond, love-filled memories you have of bein' with him. PURRS.
ReplyDeleteWe agree with Seville. Love and hugs
ReplyDeleteI love the memorial to Chucky at your home, it is just beautiful and the portrait is gorgeous. Your urn is similar to my Angel Bobo's (((hugs))) catchatwithcarenandcody
ReplyDeleteWelcome home Chuck...you are now in charge of watching over Da Crazy boyz...
ReplyDeleteHugs madi and mom
Sending comforting thoughts. 💕
ReplyDeleteAlmost two months?!?! I can't believe it's been that long! On the one hand, it feels like forever since then ... but on the other, it feels like yesterday. I love that portrait you hung - it's beautiful beyond words - just like the kitty who stars in it.
ReplyDeleteYou have memoralized him beautifully.
ReplyDeleteThat portrait of him is wonderful. Sending you lots of comforting purrs....
ReplyDeleteVicki, such a lovely tribute to Chucky. . I have thought of you often since Chucky passed. Take care.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post. It's obvious how much he was loved.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo of Chuck. It is good to keep talking about your sweet boy. XO
ReplyDeleteSending you lots of love and hugs.
ReplyDeleteOh, that lone woolie--just about made us weep. We're glad he's back home with you.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely photo.
ReplyDeleteWhen Em died, it took a long time to get over having to give her injections.. since she received them twice a day..
Sending gentle purrs
Absolutely beautiful portrait you have of Chuck hanging on the wall.. and that last photo you took of Chuck I think also needs to be framed.
ReplyDeleteSo not looking forward to experiencing my first time losing a kitty :(. *grabs Avery and gives him extra cuddles.
Our dog Shannan passed almost two years ago, and I still sometimes glance toward one of her favorite places and expect to see her there. These days, this doesn't wreck me like it used to, but I'm always surprised when it happens, and then come the wonderful memories of when she was here. May you find comfort in your wonderful memories of Chuck.
ReplyDeleteThe portrait of Chuck is so beautiful. I know you miss him terribly. Sending warm hugs. xo
ReplyDeleteBeautiful portrait of Chucky... I still miss my Boo Bear and it has been over ten years ago. xo Hugs and Purrz, Katie Kat.
ReplyDeleteThat is a stunning portrait --and actually seems to have caught some of his energy somehow. He had a wonderful life and it's good you have some wonderful memories and mementos - even if there is still sadness too
ReplyDeleteThe photo of Chuck is beautiful. I love that you left some of his things as they were. I did the same thing when my first dog Pip passed and our cat Elsie in 2016. Makes it seem like they are still there with us at some level - though certainly doesn't make us miss them any less.
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning portrait of Chuck! I always try to remember that grief is like a rock in a river. Time erodes the corners so they aren't so sharp. Eventually, it becomes smooth enough that instead of having edges, it's smooth, and you just feel the good memories again. Sending you lots of hugs and headbutts from all of us here.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely picture of a very special cat.
ReplyDeleteHugs.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Chuck was such a handsome boy. He reminds me very much of my Sable (who will be 17 later this year). Your memorial for him is lovely.
ReplyDeleteSendin' hugs and purrayers. We luv the foto.
