When I put down fresh food bowls later that afternoon, The PO'M was there, but no Sweetie! OH NOES! In my zeal to make sure she was okay, I pulled The Cat Hotel out from under it's awning, in an effort to take a look inside. If Sweetie was ill, I was going to find out!
As The Cat Hotel was about halfway out, Sweetie exploded out of it, and turned to me with such a look, that I can only describe it as the Hairy Eyeball, or Stink Eye! The Hubby was watching too, and we laughed for a full five minutes, interpreting her expression as, "What the heck, human? Can't a kitty get some sleep around here without you bothering us?" Or something like that, with a few cuss words too. If looks could kill, I'd be a dead woman!
I did not snap a photo of it, but Sweetie's look is imprinted on my brain forever. She has appeared for every meal since, however!

ReplyDeleteHa ha ha ha! Sweetie's look was probably about the same as our mom gets if she doesn't know we're in the catbox when she goes to clean it!

ReplyDeleteI always get worried when one of the cats doesn't show up right away for food, so I would have disturbed her rest too, and gotten the ol' stink eye! :)

ReplyDeleteSome kitty just wanted some peace and quiet. I understand though ... between the time I met Bear and when I brought him inside, there were several days he was no where to be found and I panicked (including the day I'd made an appt for the vet to have him checked out before we brought him inside).
ReplyDeleteWhoa! TW had to biggify the image and it still took her 5 minutes to find Sweetie. She's a bit old and senile and the eyes are going. Glad Sweetie is ok.

ReplyDeleteWe're glad she's okay. Has she gone back to usin' the hotel? We sure hope she didn't get too scared to use it. It's just too cold fur her to be out in the weather. Big hugs
