Smoky

Michigan, our fair state, has been a target for the Canadian wildfires smoke.

Heeding warnings to stay inside, I've been enjoying some extra 'quality' time, with the cats.

We are all very upset by the toll the fires are taking on the forests, wildlife, property, and humans.

Let's hope there is a solution soon.

  1. I jave heard from so many friends in the US about the smoke. Here in New Zealand we have winter woodburning stoves that do the same kind of damage to people! Crazy eh? I hope you get cleaner air soon!!

  2. I hope those fires are soon brought under control and the air quality improves for everyone. Flynn was forever sticking his bum in my face. I once read that a cat lays on you with his bum in your face because he is protecting you from danger. I think in Flynn's case he was more likely saying you can kiss my a$$.

  3. We are tired of the Canadian smoke around here too, and it is so sad that things are burning so much.

  4. The fires and smoke are so devastating. We are sending so many thoughts and prayers to all the people and animals affected. And we're glad you're staying safe. Our AQI almost hit 250 yesterday, and even just driving to and from work was rough. It's much improved today, though, perhaps thanks to the rain we got overnight. We hope your air quality is improving as well! And we're glad you're getting to enjoy lots of extra kitty cuddles!

  10. The fires in northern Alberta have been brought under control due to rain. Those in central Canada and Down East are still raging...

  11. We "waver" between orange-and-red here in Baltimore this past week, UGH ... and being up on the 16th floor of my building think it "looks" even worse than at ground level. Smelly too! Yup, mask up yet again ... but your "kitty protectors" are even better!
