Happy Appreciation Day to gingers everywhere! I can quite believe that about ginger males being heavier than other colours. Eric was 23 pounds. We have had 3 ginger females over the years and all were small with Kit being 5 pounds at her heaviest.
My husband's best boyhood friend was a ginger tom named Jacob. The father-in-law I never had the pleasure of meeting pulled over on a rainy drive home and rescued the kitten. At least I met Jacob! :D And thanks for the giggles.
We just trapped three kittens born outside; one is an orange male, and yes, he's heavier than the others - by more than the usual male/female weight difference - and more sociable, though he's not met a human before. We're trying to trap their mother now.
