Pickle Slices

When I commute to work, The Hubby fixes a packed lunch for me.

As I've been working from home since mid-March, I've been able to enjoy one of my favoritest snacks: a pickle and almond butter sandwich.

One cannot pack a sloppy sandwich like this to be eaten four hours later...it would get mushy.

Nowadays, I work all morning, step downstairs for lunch, and I find pickle slices waiting.

All I have to do is toast the bread, spread the almond butter, place the slices, and ENJOY!

With a cup of Earl Grey tea, this repast is a slice of heaven, and I am thankful that The Hubby anticipates my lunching needs so very, VERY well! 🥪

Da Boyz are very interested in the almond butter, but I haven't yet caught them in a photo...probably because I'm eating with gusto, and cannot hold the sandwich AND use my phone!

They have no desire to indulge in pickles, however.

If pickles are not your thing, try a sliced ripe banana instead!🍌

He's back!

Look at him, giving me the stare!
After this, he climbed along my window too
This cheeky squirrel was all over me this afternoon!  He took begging to new heights, in my opinion.

Could this be the same squirrel that jumped on my car hood in January (see post here) or visited my picnic table in August (see post here)?

All I know, is that today my sandwich was already eaten, so I had nothing to give this crazy squirrel. I do not agree with feeding wildlife (HA!  I feed stray cats, right?!?), but I would have tossed this guy something if I would have had it.  It's been a fairly mild winter so far, little squirrely, so I think you are doing okay.

Note to self: stash a bag of seeds in the console!  If I'm going to visit a park that is a squirrel heaven at lunch, I had better be prepared in the future.

Same Squirrel?

Shot this video yesterday, when a pretty but cheeky squirrel tried to convince me to share some of my lunch.  Is this the same squirrel that eyed me through my car windshield in March?

Hmm...hard to tell.  Same park, so could be the same squirrel.  Thoughts?

Whaz dat on the floor?!?

???
Came home for lunch today, and this sight greeted me.  Oh noes!  Could it be?

I got closer, then closer still.  No smell, but it certainly looks like...

I sucked in a deep breath, and let it out.  The thing moved!  It rolled, actually.

Carefully, I reached out a hand...and grabbed it.  A whole pecan!  Where'd that come from?  Must have fallen from the table, knocked off by a cat paw, or a neglectful human.

Whew!
