Vet Lap Cat

It's Sweetnesday!

Queen Sweet had her Solensia shot, along with a pawdicure and an 'undercarriage' comb-out.
She was rarin' to get out!
An Usie with Sweetie, The Lap Cat!
So happy...I almost cried.
Back home again, with her head mashed into her Sweetie Spa.

Sweetie does not allow her humans to trim her nails (hence, the sobriquet 'Murder Mitts'), nor can I comb her underarms, tummy, or nether regions.

Don't like the idea that her tangled furs might pull and be ouchie.

Yes, The Eastside Cats paid for the veterinarian's new boat over the past week.

P.S. Thank you kindly for the comments for Manny and Chili Bruce, after their dentals.

They are doing well: eating normally, using the box normally, but maybe not so playful.

Spry

It's Sweetnesday!
You don't know how terrific it is, to see Sweetie move about like this.

Monday, she received her second Solensia shot (and another matted fur brush out), and this video was taken just hours later.

Solensia is for arthritis; a monthly injection.

While I cannot easily pill Sweetie, stuffing her into a carrier and getting her to the vet's office is within my abilities.

This visit proved that her weight is stable, and the next visit will include a blood pressure check, and a inspection by her veterinarian.
Waiting to see the vet tech, glaring daggers!
Thankfully, Sweetie didn't hold this supreme intrusion to her dignity against me, maybe because she's less achy.

Power

Our area had an ice storm Wednesday.

We lost power on Thursday (!), and the current projected restoration date is this Sunday.

However, the real power trip was Sweetie's veterinarian visit.
You are lucky this isn't a video with sound!
Sweetie's fur just came off of her in buckets.
Trying to hide under a chair.
-Sweetie lost a small bit of weight from her last exam.
-Her blood pressure is high.
-Tests are being run to see what pain medications her kidneys can tolerate.
-The lump on her tummy/mammary gland hadn't changed at all.
-Her murder mitts were trimmed, and all mats were combed from her fur!

Sweetie will go back in two weeks, after I give her a teeny tiny bit of a pill once a day to reduce her blood pressure; will crush it to mix into a gushy, smelly treat.

It's obvious that she has sore hips; the vet didn't even need to take radiographs to diagnose it.

We are hoping to give her a Solensia shot once a month.
Sweetie didn't hold the indignities of a vet visit against me; here she is, using my torso has her beddy after we arrived back home
.
If we go quiet, please know that it's because without power, we are without Wi-Fi too.

May have to drive to the office to work; rats!

Clumpy

It's Sweetnesday!

Our outside-now-inside kitty isn't grooming as she once did.

She has fur clumps all over her flanks.
One or twice a day I break out the comb to gently work at them; it's her undercoat fur, and it is surprisingly light in color.

Sweetie allows about five minutes for these ministrations, before those murder mitts give the signal that she's had enough.

No doubt, she's feeling stiff and not as bendy as she once was, so her ablutions are at a minimum.

Am not asking for advice; she's an old cat, and pilling her with pain meds causes more stress than leaving her be, and mixing something into her food hasn't been successful either.

She has her heated spa bed, and she enjoys laying on the hardwood floor in the spare bedroom, next to the heat vent.

Have put a soft towel down, and a plush beddy, but she only wants the floor.

As you wish, Queen Sweetie.

I don't like it, it's not about me, is it?
