#2 Friday the 13th

The second of three Friday the 13th's in 2026 is today!

2026: February, March, November

I don't have many superstitions, other than making sure I start new projects during a new moon, and end things on a full moon.

Will pay attention to my intuition, I pick up found coins as it's good luck, and accept coincidences as signs from the gods.

Comment if you have any myths or superstitions that you believe.

The winter solstice has the least daylight of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, and the sun is at its lowest angle.

Modern pagans and Wiccans use the Wheel of The Year.

There are many henges and rock formations created by ancient peoples in which the sun aligns with specific petroglyphs or chambers on different solstices.

Newgrange in Ireland, County Meath, is a neolithic passage tomb where the sunrise shines deep into the structure.

Henges are a passion of mine, and since I keep finding Stonehenge lookalikes all over social media, I post them on the two solstices and two equinoxes.

Yule

As a religious holiday, the winter solstice is also known as Yule, and celebration
of this day predates Christianity.

While Druids, Romans, and Norsemen all celebrated the sacred nature of the solstice centuries ago, many modern Pagans and Wiccans consider
this an important religious holiday.

A yule greeting to you all:

"The light is reborn this winter solstice, may your heart lift with the joy of new beginnings and nature's blessings."

Winter solstice 2022 in Northern Hemisphere is at 4:47 PM on Wednesday, 21 December, Eastern Time.

Many ancient henge sites are mysteriously aligned with the sun on the winter solstice, such as Stonehenge, UK and Newgrange, Ireland.
