#2 Friday the 13th

The second of three Friday the 13th's in 2026 is today!

2026: February, March, November

I don't have many superstitions, other than making sure I start new projects during a new moon, and end things on a full moon.

Will pay attention to my intuition, I pick up found coins as it's good luck, and accept coincidences as signs from the gods.

Comment if you have any myths or superstitions that you believe.

All narrated by Steve West

Initially a Scotland Yard chief inspector, later a superintendent, melancholic Richard Jury is invariably assisted in his cases by Melrose Plant, a British aristocrat who has given up his titles, and by his hypochondriacal but dependable sergeant, Alfred Wiggins.

The names of each book is or was the title of an actual pub, which figure in the storylines.

I stumbled on this series when "The Black Cat" was on the new books shelf that the library, and found it fascinating enough to start at the beginning, and have kept going as each new book is released.

I've read them, and I've listened to them; Narrator Steve West is one of the best!

Friday the 13th

On Friday the 13th, folks often approach the day with caution, avoiding significant decisions or events.

Superstitions around this day include eschewing travel, delaying surgeries, or steering clear of major financial decisions.

Great idea!

Let's go hug a black cat:
Rats...Da Boyz are hugging themselves!

For me, it's simply Fri-YAY!

Paraskevidekatriaphobia

Paraskevidekatriaphobia: the fear of Friday, the 13th.

To help allay your fears about today, or that Mercury is in retrograde from May 10 to June 2 (associated with confusion, delay, and frustration), or any of the other myriad of disappointments, betrayals, anger, and sadness caused by our politicians, our loved ones, or the weather, here are a few items to give you a grin.
