My neighbor loves critters, and this down-and-out cat showed up on her porch a few months ago.
Although he doesn't seem to like other cats, he's very friendly to humans!
I pet him, and pick him up, and he is quite the gentleman.
Obviously, he's not in great shape, and my neighbor and I are keeping a close eye on him.
Stray cats are not always good candidates for vet visits, because often euthanasia is what is recommended.
He's doing better than when he first arrived, though, and sleeping in the warm sunshine is Guy's favorite pastime.
So, since he's sleeping on her porch in daylight, and in her garage at night, this is her call.
I've offered to do what I can, and have donated a pile of canned cat food for her tribe of cats.
In the meantime, I've grown quite fond of Guy!

P.S. Don't tell The PO'M, Sly, or The Hubby that I have a new boyfriend...m'k???
I won't tell a soul and I'd do the same thing. You're such a jewel.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day and weekend. Scritches to your new boyfriend. ♥
He looks like a sweet and gentle dude, we'd love him too.
ReplyDeleteI won't tell. He is a dear old boy.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like Guy has picked a great place for his retirement! Good for you for looking out for him!

Guy knew where to go! I hope he is okay...at least he's being taken care of well. ~Ernie
ReplyDeleteI love him from here. And the beautiful heart of the woman who is helping him.
ReplyDeleteHe looks like a sweetheart. XO
ReplyDeleteWe won't tell! He is so lucky to have found your neighor and you too!
ReplyDeleteWe bet he's glad he has your neighbor and you to care about him.
ReplyDeleteBless you for caring for a one of God's lost creatures.
ReplyDeleteGuy looks like a sweetie! Neighborhood cats are always so wonderful! I too have a "Boy Friend" he lives with an elderly gentleman and he comes out to see Cinnamon and me when we walk in the morning. I bring him treats and he gives me purrs and head butts. Don't tell Marv and Kozmo. Barb
ReplyDeleteIt makes me wonder where he came from. I'm glad you're caring for this old gentleman.
ReplyDeleteEnough tasty food to fill his tummy, plenty of fresh, clean water, and a warm, comfy bed to sleep on may be all Guy wants right now. But I'd want to bring him in, too. Maybe you and the neighbour could find someone who doesn't have any cats right now but would like to give a friendly feline a retirement home...
ReplyDeleteMy lips are sealed! :-) Guy is a handsome fella.
ReplyDeletewe hope the new kitty stays and gets looked after.
ReplyDeleteAwww, he sure knew where the 'good life' would be! Thanks for helping him as best you can:)
ReplyDeleteThis story and all the sentiments express in the comments teared me up. :) Thank you and your neighbor for being such good guardian angels.
