Blooming

Sweetnesday!

For years, Outside Sweetie avoided human contact, and I longed to stroke her fur and smooch her noggin.

Inside Sweetie may have a lazy appearance, yet she occupies a huge territory in the house, and in our hearts.

She allows petting, and playing, and she falls asleep while perched on my chest as I read a book before turning in for the night.

Sweets may never be a lap cat, but I giggle when I recall those years of yearning to be her friend.

  1. Looks like she's come a very long way. Good for you. You do have a way with kitties.

Have a fabulous day. Scritches to Sweetie. ♥

  2. It is amazing how quickly Sweetie transitioned from an outdoor to an indoor cat. Now if only Paddy would do the same.

  8. I wonder how many other outsider-cats secretly yearn for an indoor life.

  10. Awww, the Sweets.
I have a question. You know so much about cats! help. Zach's in Mexico with his Bo. She got into a bit of the food she was allergic to on Friday. She has been rolling and itching and yowling like she did the last time, or rather the first time we determined it was a food allergy. Have you seen cats act this way? My son thinks she acts like she is in heat. But she did this last time with leg kicking etc. I think her reaction is just worse this time because her body is ready to react again .. She's been spayed. Ive heard rare rare stories of cats have an extra ovary etc but my own vet assures me it is so very rare. Have you seen itchy and rolling behavior with allergies to food? The vet goes to zachs' house and is certain this is allergy again. The last time he gave her benadryl and she immediately calmed down. He's been to 3 vets now in Mexico. I pray it is nothing neurologic. Any thoughts? I

  12. Oh, Sweetie, what a good name. Mama’s best friend’s kitty is Sweetie, too. I hope everyone has a Sweetie in his/her life at some point. Lovely eyes.

  13. Isn't it amazing how much space a small kitty can take up in our lives and our hearts?
