August 9: Book Lovers Day

Book Lovers Day is celebrated on August 9 every year.

This is an unofficial holiday observed to encourage bibliophiles to celebrate reading and literature.

People are advised to put away their smartphones and every possible technological distraction, to pick up a book to read.

Book Lovers Day is widely recognized on global scale, yet its origin and creator remain unknown to date.

Mum says all those pictures apply to her.
I think she was born with a book in her hand. MOL!
She feels sorry for those that do not like to read.

I still read actual, hardcover books, but I wonder if they're losing ground.

I wish I could read more but I fall asleep when I do.

Your books are your friends, and when you get lonely you go to the library to visit them.

I sometimes discover a long-lost book on the internet, in electronic form - so I print it out and have it coil-bound: it's cheap, relatively easy - and gives me a real book to read.
