Well Met

Looky!

On Friday, while walking in my neighborhood, long lost boyfriend Sly was out enjoying the warmish temps.

What a lovely gift on my b'day!

His human dad told me Sly is now 17 years old, and only goes outside when it's NICE, as Friday was.

Sly granted me permission to use his image for Sunday Selfies.

March 21 is World Tattoo Day, honoring body art and tattooing.

Learn more here: World Tattoo Day

A few sillies below for your entertainment.

For more fun, below is a slide show of my ink.

The first slide is the inspiration art, then the resulting tattoo photo.

March 21 is also the International Day of Forests, a day to celebrate and raise awareness of the importance of all types of forests.

For Caturday, I'm posting Vincent Van Gogh's "The Grove", painted in 1890.

Found the image online.

Buh Bye!

Oh yeah, I'm thankful today!

Although, technically and scientifically, winter ends when spring begins, we all know that those two seasons tend to fight over dominance for awhile.

Crazy weather ensues, but at least the birds are coming back, green stuff is peaking out of the ground, and if there is any snow, we know it won't last long.

Yay, it's the last day of winter.

Tall, Dark, and Handsome...Times Two

Another Twozday on Wednesday.

Manny and Chili Bruce do not disappoint.

Forehead to forehead.

Chili Bruce on top of the refrigerator.

Da Boyz viewing their territory from on high.

Manny, in the round.

💕💕💕

The Hubby never complains that I'm always carrying my mobile phone.

He knows I'm usually listening to an audiobook.

Or must have the proper equipment to snap images of my babies!

 🍀 Enjoy the day! 🍀

P.S. March 17, 2020 was the date that we brought Celestial Sweetie inside.

She'd been an outside cat since we'd TNR'd her in 2009, and she really enjoyed her inside retirement with a heated bed, soft blankets, and no other cats to bother her in Sweetie's Apartment (now Henryville).

Miss you, Celestial Miss Growly-pants!

On The Paw

It's PO'Monday!

Celestial Paddy O'Malley was busily scouting his territory on March 15, 2013:

Truthfully, he simply followed me as I roamed around the yard.

We received a goodly amount of snow the next day.

Not A Number

Soothsayer: "Beware the Ides of March!"

William Shakespeare's play Julius Caesar, Act I, Scene 2

🏛️

"The Romans did not number each day of a month from the first to the last day. Instead, they counted back from three fixed points of the month: the Nones (the 5th or 7th, eight days before the Ides), the Ides (the 13th for most months, but the 15th in March, May, July, and October), and the Kalends (1st of the following month)." - Wikipedia

Well, that's as clear as mud!

A few Shakespeare-based giggles for today:

#2 Friday the 13th

The second of three Friday the 13th's in 2026 is today!

2026: February, March, November

I don't have many superstitions, other than making sure I start new projects during a new moon, and end things on a full moon.

Will pay attention to my intuition, I pick up found coins as it's good luck, and accept coincidences as signs from the gods.

Comment if you have any myths or superstitions that you believe.

A Change of Mind

How 'bout a Formerly Feral Friday on Thankful Thursday?

Am chuffed that Henry has found our bed to sleep on, our windows to look out of, and that he snugs up to me.

A year ago, I wouldn't have though we'd be here.

I adore him!

Out and About

It's Walkin' and Readin' Wednesday!

Yay, have been able to get OUTSIDE to breathe fresh air without my face freezing.

*shhhh...shouldn't say that out loud, the Weather Gods will bring winter back*

New cats in the 'hood!

This wee kitty is very shy.

Marvelous eyes, and a fabulous fur pattern!
Have now petted this kitty three, four times at a house that's being updated, so not sure if he lives there or is a member of the construction crew.
Very friendly.

This is Niko, whom I haven't seen in the fur since the really cold weather began.
Niko just plops down and starts rolling around.
He's charming!

My most recent completed books/audiobooks:

M. A. Frick's Fate Unraveled Trilogy:
Forcing Fate
Following Fate
Fulfilling Fate
World-building, magic, dragons, and war, as Ayvanna finds her way through a world that tries to diminish her, but she won't hide her light under anyone's basket.

Richard Swan's Empire of the Wolf Trilogy:
The Justice of Kings
The Tyranny of Faith
The Trials of Empire
Strangely prescient for political maneuvering, with magic, emperors, and the veil between the living and darker realms, as Helena and Sir Konrad battle the forces of evil, while facing their own inner demons.

Emily Brontë's Wuthering Heights
Had never read this before; okay, now I know that it's dark, even very dark, and moody.

Becky Aikman's Spitfires: The American Women Who Flew in the Face of Danger During World War II
Nonfiction history of American women who ferried new, barely tested fighters and bombers to air bases in the UK.
