Smiley

"In 1963, an artist called Harvey Ball created the image of the smiley face for a local company.

The design was never trademarked, and lots of people liked it and began to use it.

It became a very well-known symbol and morphed into the emoji that we all know today

Ball didn’t mind that his creation became so popular, but he was worried that the original meaning of his design had been forgotten.

To remedy this, he created World Smile Day, and was first held in 1999.

The event runs each year on the first Friday in October, and attempts to spread some joy, and lift people’s spirits."

Here's a pic of a little smiley face pin that I've had for donkey's years.

Frown Turned Upside Down

Tomorrow, October 4 is World Smile Day.

Each year on the first Friday in October, World Smile Day devotes a day to smiles and spreading random acts of kindness.

Searching my library of memes and cartoons, the word 'smile' brought up these:

Mmm, maybe not exactly in the correct mood for the day, but hopefully you, dear reader, are entertained.

😹😹😹

Yes, we are thankful for smiles and kindness!
