Alarming

June 18 is International Panic Day, a mock holiday designed to draw attention to mental health issues.

It encourages individuals to acknowledge their anxieties and fears, fostering open conversations about well-being.

Take a moment to reflect, seek support, and prioritize your mental health.

And a few laughs will help!

For your entertainment, items found on social media:

I, for one, enjoy finding the silliest things on social media, and love to share.

At a recent family get-together, I used my phone to display memes and jokes, proving to the other retirees present that I'm working hard while not working!

Keep 'em coming, folks, and thank you as I steal your work for our amusement.

Hahahahaha!

Kitten Therapy

16 years ago, Celestial Angel was a kitten, and she was a real cutie.
We called her our 'cow-colored' kitty.

The Hubby and I considered 'cow' names for her, like Elsie or Betsy.

But cats tend to pick their own names, and Angel was purrfect for her.

Except for the time at the vet's office, when there were three Angels waiting in the lobby:
Angel the cat
Angel the bunny rabbit
Angel the dog

Tiger Tuesday

Before he was named Paddy O'Malley,
The Hubby called him "Tiger"!

No hard feelings about being picked up for an usie,
The PO'M gives me some licks!
The PO'M's chin doesn't appear to be bothering him in the least, so perhaps he just lost some fur a few weeks ago.  And, if you didn't notice, I'm holding him in my left hand...the one that I smashed in March...and it's just about as good as ever.  So very lucky that a) it was my left hand, and I'm right-handed, b) no surgery was needed, and c) I continue to exercise per the directions given by my occupational therapist.  If there is a downside, other than the extra money that came out of our pockets to pay medical bills, is that my wedding band won't fit.  Yes, I could have it resized, or get a new one (The Hubby has hinted at this), but I'm a sentimental fool and I want MY ring on my finger.  It was chosen 25 years ago, when we were broke, and the set was the least expensive that the jewelry store had.

Angel The Healer

Now, about my broken finger bones in my left hand!  On Friday, May 4, my surgeon removed the two pins that he'd placed.  They anchored my fractured #4 and #5 metacarpal bones to the #3 healthy bone, as stabilization.  He was pleased with my progress, gave me a prescription for occupational therapy, and this brace to wear ALL OF THE TIME, except in the shower.

I had to remove the brace
when going through airport security,
but at least those metal pins were gone!

I wear it religiously, and usually put my arm in a sling too.  Yep, I was a sight while gawking around England!

Therapy began last week.  At first, I was pretty sure it was a waste of time, but every new appointment gives me more flexibility, and strength.  And to tell the truth, it's really nice to have people who care, who ask questions, and want me to succeed.  They gave me this edema glove, because my palm still had too much swelling:

Someone suggested that I add lace...

Multiple times a day, I do my finger and wrist exercises, and visit the therapy office every other day on my lunch hour.  But WAIT!  I have some other healing therapy too...

Angel, purring on my injured hand!  Well now, I've got that going for me!
