Food Merry-Go-Round, or Tuna Tango

I mentioned last month here that we had to change food for Angel and Chuck.  We did so, to Natural Balance Salmon and Green Pea Limited Ingredient Formula.  Chuck had become a slow eater, preferring to snack a bit, walk away, then come back to snack some more.

For a while, everything was hunky dory.  Then, I got the bright idea that we were not going to be held hostage by one food again, and researched some alternative foods that we could use.

Research, I mean, by reading the list of preferred foods supplied by Sheppard Alternative Animal Care, our holistic veterinarian.

FOOL!  The moment that I put out BFF Tuna and Tilapia Twosome, Chucky ate every morsel in a flash!

Angel seems to prefer Natural Balance, because it's pate-style.  We are mixing the two right now, but it's obvious that we are going to be doing a dance between two kinds of food, and the two cats.

AND GET THIS!  Patty O'Malley and Sweetie will NOT eat the Natural Balance Salmon and Green Pea.  They won't.  A bit of a sniff, and they walk away.  Huh?  But they never say no to Trader Joe's Ocean Fish, Salmon & Rice Dinner.  What is that all about?

The Hubby is so pleased that Chucky is eating more food, that he cares not for my merry-go-round of cans, and half-opened this, and who-ate-what?  Of course, I am pleased too, and I will adapt.  My dancing shoes are on!

Disclaimer: No one gave us any free food or coupons or anything for this post.  All opinions are mine, The Hubby's, and the cats'.  All photos are mine.

  1. The mom says the BFF is like crack. Of course, we don't get a lot of foods with fish.

  2. While we don't have those foods, we have different cans too. Georgia eats one kind, and JJ and Julie eat another.
We love seeing mum dance . Bet you kitties do too;)

  5. We're not big on seafood here, but some every once in a while is okay.

  8. No one here can afford to be a picky eater - Veikko the Vacuum sees to that! But we dream of such kitty delights as different cans for different palates. Can we move to your place? We'll bring a bed.

  12. Our mom is eternally grateful that we are pretty consistent about food preferences these days. It's twice as bad playing mix and match with four of us!

  13. Well, dat's pawsum mews. Altho' be sure to watch dat NB LID. Recently they had a mix up at da manufacturin' plant and 'stead of peas, they added carrots and didn't change da label. Da customer who repurted it got a vague 'pawlogy but they didn't do a recall or alert da public at all. And typically anykitty/doggy on a LID diet doesn't do well with change. Not to mention dat carrots be hard fur kitties livers to break down, and be horrible fur CKD kitties. Anyways, enuff negative. We're happy happy dat da kitties are eatin' well and more than one food. Mommy says to make a pate outta da BFF, just put it in a blender fur a few pulses. Big hugs

    Luv ya'

  14. One of our cats eats Natural Balance LID. I guess I should say all of our cats do, because the other two will eat Sophie's leftovers!
