BREAKING NEWS!!!! Name Changes at Eastside Cats!

When I TNR'd The PO'M in March, 2014, I named him Patrick O'Malley.  As time went on, I called him Patty.  But too many people think he's really a SHE when I say 'Patty', so The Hubby suggested that I get with the program and call him PADDY O'Malley.  Now, Paddy is actually short for Padraig, which is a very old, Irish (or Gaelic) name.  Patrick is the English form of Padraig, so we'll just go with this...

and the goofiest cat in the WORLD!

A dear friend (ET) called Manny 'Manfred' on FB, and once used, the name just seems to fit.  Manfred Mann is an old 1960's rock group, so riffing off of that, we've renamed him...

Three names, because Chili Bruce Lee has three too!

And I'm this close (thumb and forefinger a wee space apart) to renaming Angel.  She is living upstairs on her own, and only gets fussy when she can see her humans, or can hear us on the front porch.  Angel is adorable, with soft, bunny fur, and both of us call her Baby or Cookie as often as we use Angel.

  2. I never thought Patty/Paddy O'Malley was a girl. Patricia isn't common among Irish people - or cats.

  10. Isn't there a song in "Cats" about every cat having 3 names - what you call em, what their own name is, and a secret mystical name ?

  13. OMC, that photo of Paddy just cracked us up! And what pearly whites that MMF has! (Izzy likes to sleep on his back too, although he has a whole lot more to balance him.) And Angel--what a beauty!

  14. Yay! Cats don't care what you call them, just don't call them late for dinner. 😂

  15. Sometimes it takes a while for a kitty's real name to emerge!

  16. OMC, that photo of Paddy is so cute! Love all the new names! Our Sophie is officially Sophie Zee Kitty, but we only call her Sophie (or brat). And Woodrow was originally Lion when we fostered him.
