Bass Terd Burds

Trout Talking Tabbies...do not read any further!
I purposely used Bass Terd Burds as today's title, to warn you away!

At my office, a pair of Canada Geese have chosen the front door are of one of our buildings to nest near.

We've added caution tape and signs telling everyone to go around!
In addition, I attended "Owl Fest" at Lake St. Clair Metropark last Saturday.  How cool to be within a few feet of these beautiful creatures.

Barred Owl

Eastern Screech Owl

Saw Whet Owl

Long Eared Owl

Peregrine Falcon
Needless to say, since we've had warmer temperatures in Michigan, all of the inside Eastside Cats are enjoying plenty of window time, watching the robins, wrens, and chickadees.  The 'O' Cats appear to be indifferent to birds, at least when I'm around.

Speaking of The 'O' Cats:

The PO'M is not modest!
Paddy O'Malley has a big bald spot on his belly!  I have no idea what this is about; is he over grooming?  He has a couple of other bald spots, which look like chunks of his fur were pulled out.  He always seems itchy.  We may have to try new foods, to see if there is any change.  In spite of his missing fur, The PO'M is as lovey dovey as ever.

  1. I love the title of this post but I love all birds. They can be mean though. They all do such good work too.

  3. Beautiful birds. PO'M could have flea allergy. Many years ago, I had a cat that had flea allergy and bare spots.

  4. We have a large flock of Canada Geese that live all year round on the marshes beside the river we overlook. Most of the year, every morning and every night at dusk they do a flyover honking all the way. P O'M is looking handsome.. Flynn used to over groom his belly furs away, then one day out of the blue he just stopped doing it and his fur grew back.

  10. I love Raptors. My faves except for Hummingbirds. PO'M, ask your mom there if you use a flea deterrent..Advantage or Frontline? Robin had a flea allergy that didn't go away until they invented Program and finallyfor cats. After several years for dogs.

  12. Relic had a similar bald/itchy issue and it was just fleas, which were easy enough to clear up.

Hope those geese don't bother you too much at work. They are the only Canadians that aren't always polite!

  15. We giggled at your title ;)
Those owls are pretty amazing and we are glad to be indoor cats.
Julie goes through stages of excessive licking. The Vet did not seem too concerned as she was in good health otherwise. When on the porch, she chases mice so the Vet gave me some Milbemax incase of worms (and maybe that was why the licking) Katie has a good suggestion too.
We had sunshine on sunday and now a snowstorm!!
    Arrrgh!

  16. Beautiful owls. POM is a cutie, I want to snorgle that tummy. Could you slip 1/4 of a zyrtec in his food? We give Prancie that amount daily and her furs grew back.

  17. We wonder why those silly geese didn't find a quieter place to start a family. Cool owls! But we bet that screech owl's name is Caroline! MOL!

Poor itchy PO'M. Fleas instead of food?
