My dear friends and family,
Today, and every day, I am thankful to be gainfully employed.
Yesterday, the company had a headcount reduction.
I still have my job.
I am thankful for that.
My work position has been 'downsized' a few times in my career, and although my Eastside Cats family managed, it's nothing to be flippant or casual about.
To be able to pay the bills, put food on the table for the humans, and into bowls for the cats, is a gift. We are fortunate.
So, let's JIGSAW!
Let's Hop!
I hear you. Those are all very important things. I'm glad you still have your job.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day. Scritches to the kitties. ♥
I hear you too. There's been a LOT of downsizing and change at my employer too, but thankfully I've weathered it.
ReplyDeletebeen there done that and may be facing it again in the next several; glad your job was saved....it's not easy when it's not~~~~
ReplyDeletewavez two everee one frum de land oh fish stix :) ♥♥
Been there - I think I've barely missed being layed off as many years as I've been working - it is stressful. I'm glad you are still employed and I'm glad I am too - purrs and prayers for those who were told they are now unemployed - may they find a much better job soon.
ReplyDeleteYes indeed so many are struggling. Even work environments that used to be considered safe aren't necessarily so.
ReplyDeleteMany hugs Cecilia
you ARE fortunate, especially here in Michigan. I was a victim of downsizing here in 2007.......then the economy crashed. I can't do cashier jobs etc due to my stones and having to drink large amounts of water and needing the bathroom.....haven't found anything since. Trust me, I know too well what it's like to worry about not having anything for Lenny and I. We ALWAYS plan for Cody and Dakota, they always have what they need.
ReplyDeleteYes indeed, that is really something to be thankful for these days. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteBoy I am thankful every single day for what Katie and I have, and we appreciate every morsel in our food bowls.
ReplyDeleteWe may make that numbered brothers. We are thinking.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you have the peace of mind of employment. thank you for the puzzles.
ReplyDeleteWe're glad for you too! It's never fun having to worry about that.
ReplyDeleteThe Tribe of Five is very happy you survived the job cuts! Kibble and cat nip aren't free!
ReplyDeletePurrs & Head Bonks,
Oliver
I'm so glad you were spared. When I was wrongfully terminated, the only blessing was my own cats weren't there to be affected. It's left scars on me that will never heal.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you were spared. I hope they don't do anymore downsizing. Thank you for the puzzles. XO
ReplyDeleteOh that’s great news!
ReplyDeleteIm so glad you still have your job. So sorry for all who have lost theirs . It is tough. We have a friend, a very qualified friend who has had to work at a kitchen goods store while he tries to find a job within his area of expertise. We admire him. He gives up Thanksgiving dinner to run a store where no one really needs the goods on a Holiday.
ReplyDeleteWe know all about that as Dads old company did that many years but later, around the holidays. It was always difficult. He is so glad to be retired and out of that
ReplyDeleteIt's scary trying to work these days. It isn't always enough to be useful and diligent; sometimes you lose your job regardless. I am glad you are still going strong at your work-place.
ReplyDeleteThat is kinda scary for sure. Fortunately for us dad works in an industry that's needed everywhere. In fact it's quite booming in many areas as we've seen the crazy growth, especially in the apartment industry. We're glad you didn't lose your position.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely something to be thankful for! I'm glad you still have your job. I am also VERY thankful for my job. I need to keep these kitties living the good life!
ReplyDeleteThat is a LOT to be thankful for!
