Today, my direct supervisor is leaving his current job to head a new department in Europe, moving from one Vice Presidency to another.
We've been great friends for the past few years, and I've got a lump in my throat just typing these words. We have made a great team! I am an executive administrative assistant.
My new supervisor is a man I've been working with for over seven years; he's been promoted! We two just had a terrific gabfest, and I feel we're going to be just fine together.
There is good and bad with everything, and this change is by far not as hellish as others that I've been through in my career, yet I have qualms.
So long, CS...Bon Voyage!
Hello, CA...let's hit the ground running!

This is the card that I gave CS, plus a potted mini-rose plant & some chocolates. |
Here's an old clip of The Who, playing "Don't Get Fooled Again", with the prophetic line:
Meet the new boss!
Same as the old boss!
Even though that line doesn't apply, it's nice to ROCK OUT once in awhile...
Here is a photo that I found online, of Roger Daltrey with a kitten:

Change like that can sure make the humans nervous though but we're sure you can handle it!
ReplyDeleteChange causes stress and sometimes it's unwarranted and sometimes the change is awful. I'm sure you'll do just fine.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day and weekend. ♥
I guess if I am being honest change is my least favorite thing. But alas we have to go with the flow. I'm glad you know your new boss.
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine, who works at a resort, just had the resort bought by another management team. She doesn't know any of them. I hope and pray they will recognize all the employees for the values and experience and keep the.
Hugs Cecilia
No fan of change here, but sounds like this is pretty good beginning with new boss.
ReplyDeleteHere's to hoping all goes well!
ReplyDeleteGreat that you have a new boss that you get along with.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
ReplyDeleteMy mum loves The Who :)
Change is always sorta scary - but you sound ready to go.At least you know the :new" guy abd nice versa.
ReplyDeleteWe're glad it's not a stranger coming in. That would be kinda like having a new girl cat in the house!
ReplyDeleteEverything changes. I am glad you like the new boss.
ReplyDeleteWe hope it works out for you. When there is a new supervisors things change. I know you will handle it well.
ReplyDeleteNo one but a baby appreciates a change! Best wishes for your new path this year.
ReplyDeleteNothing stays and everything changes and we wish you a great year to come with new people. Love that photo of Daltrey
ReplyDeleteI love the kitty card you got for your supervisor. Good luck to him in Europe. Sounds like your new supervisor and you will make a good team as well :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's a very nice card!
ReplyDeletePinot xo
Wishing you the best of luck! Change always makes me nervous too.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a cute card, and according to dad anything related to rock and roll is awesome, so yay on your The Who reference. We hope the change works out for you, and it sounds like it's going to. Dad just can't seem to settle into his new job for various reasons. He and mom are not really "people" people, and if he could dad would work all by his lonesome every day. I'm not worried yet about another move as mom would kill dad if he even broached the subject right now, but between recent overheard discussions and their continued frustration with house-hunting I'm getting the sense something's up.
ReplyDeleteI hope it isn't too difficult to break in the new boss! :-)
ReplyDeleteChange can be tough, but sounds like this one will be very smooth! GOOD LUCK
ReplyDeleteSweet vintage photo! And change is always difficult. Best wishes, my dear.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your friend!
ReplyDeleteI know it's hard to leave friends and move to totally different culture, but I'll keep my fingers crossed for you both. It's going to be a hard time for you but I'm sure your friendship will survive! <3
