Great Grandmother

Our family lost relatives during the 1918 Flu Epidemic.

This fact is made more poignant during the current COVID-19 pandemic.

I am thankful that I have items that once belonged to my great grandmother, who adopted my grandmother after her mother died.

Hat, gloves, and bling!
Accoutrements for a fancy outfit

I never knew my great-grandfather, and my great-grandmother passed when I was a kid.

Somehow, I received a bedroom suite (dresser, double bed head and footboard, and vanity) also, and The Hubby and I use this furniture today.

Not only am I thankful for these objects, but of course am grateful for their open-hearts, who took in an orphaned child.

Jigsaw puzzle...it's hard!

  3. Those are just fabulous items. Have you ever worn any of the accessories? I am blessed to have known three out of four great-grandparents. My one great-grandma lived to be 99 and died when I was 21. She was a strong woman!
