National Library Week

National Library Week, April 3-9, 2022!

My regular readers know that I am a library advocate.

The modern library offers more than things to read, such as movies, music, lectures, sewing clubs, local history and genealogy reference materials, games, how-to seminars, and more!

Someday, I hope folks will be able to adopt a cat at the library...wouldn't that be great?

I've collected a few memes and cartoons, for your enjoyment.
All images copied from the interwebs, and used for mere entertainment.

Go visit your library!

  1. Our local library has a dog! Maybe the branch need a kitty. Equal rights you know, LOL!

    Thanks for all the giggles.

    1. Yes, cats belong in libraries; it's the natural order of things!

  2. Mum would agree with you :)
She has to have a book on the go at all times and would encourage more people to read!

    1. My family and friends ask me what books I'm reading...not 'book'!

  3. Thanks for the fun funnies this morning! Our local library is only a five-minute drive from us and is one of dad's favorite places. We have a handful of branches scattered across Asheville, and mom recently discovered that they now have a selection of jigsaw puzzles to take out. Mom just dropped off a few that they've completed so others can now enjoy. Have a spectacular weekend!

    1. That's great! I visit libraries in other cities, and gather intel for my 'to read' list. One of these has a jigsaw puzzle sitting out, for any and all to play. When I'm able to slot in one or two pieces, I feel I should have a "Jigsaw Puzzle Queen" crown to wear!

  5. Great week for Libraries everywhere. I love real hold in your hand books and have one going every day. In the eves when Precious is on my legs, she jumps up first to sniff the book then sleep while I try to turn the pages.

    1. Da Boyz sniff and rub against every book that I'm reading, and Sweetie rubs against my iPhone when I'm laying in bed while listening to an audiobook...borrowed from the library.
If I listen to an audiobook outloud, she starts to meow her head off, just as she does when I'm on a Zoom meeting! Ha!

  6. We love books. There's nothing like the feel and smell of a good book.

    Love all the funnies.

Have a fabulous day and weekend. Scritches to the kitties. ♥

  7. How lucky you are!
Our library is at the end of our block, so it's very close, and the hours I've spent there, mostly chatting with the staff and other patrons, are many.
Some of my best recommendations have come from these folks!

  8. I love the library too. Ours is just finishing a big renovation and since I wasn't able to drive for 10 weeks, it was a shock to go inside and see it again.

  9. Our #1 says she remembers how she loved using the Chicago Public Library when she lived there 20 years ago. Sadly, we don't have much of s library in this small town in rural France.
