Fri-YIPPEE!

Have enjoyed my visit to Vancouver Island so very much!

Friday is my travel-back-home day, so to avoid sketchy WiFi connections, with strangers reading my laptop screen, here's a few yucks yucks that I hope will make you smile, set up ahead of time:

I Read Like It's My Job

I love to read and to listen to audiobooks.

Am so very thankful for the public library, otherwise I'd have to get a second job to fund my reading habit.

Some books that I've enjoyed recently:

Ray Clark's DI Gardener Series, Books #1 to #6 (#7 to #11 are not yet available at the library)
Kelley Armstrong's "Finding Mr. Write"
Ron Chernow's "Alexander Hamilton"
Andrew Cartmel's "Death in Fine Condition", Book #1 in his The Paperback Sleuth Series
M. A. Frick's Fate Unraveled Trilogy
Fez Inkwright's "Botanical Curses and Poisons"
Nicci French's "Has Anyone Seen Charlotte Salter?"
J. Bree's The Bonds That Tie Series

Give me a good mystery, whether it's a police procedural from the UK, a fae princess defending her kingdom, thrillers, wizards fighting crime, true crime, dragon-riding soldiers fighting dark forces, or magical cats who catch the baddie!

Cats & Books

I love cats!

I love books!

I love pics of cats and books!
Using my library's app, I download audiobooks and ebooks to my phone to enjoy.

Reading or listening while laying on the futon, Da Boyz join me for a snuggle.

In bed, Sweetie crawls onto my chest.

Am thankful for these comforts in such troubled times.

Cats and books...yes please!

National Read A Book Day

September 9 is National Read A Book Day!
In general, cats like books because they make good places to sleep, but one never knows if they don't absorb the writing as they nap!

I've recently finished book #6 of the Cormoran Strike series, by Robert Galbraith, entitled "The Ink Black Heart"; fabulous!

Am currently re-reading the DCI Craig Gillard series by Nick Louth.

Other authors who have new books coming out this month:

Wrexford & Sloane series, by Andrea Penrose
DI Haskell & Quinn Crimes, by Bilinda P. Sheehan
Detective Clare Mackay series, by Marion Todd

What are you reading?

National Library Week

National Library Week, April 3-9, 2022!

My regular readers know that I am a library advocate.

The modern library offers more than things to read, such as movies, music, lectures, sewing clubs, local history and genealogy reference materials, games, how-to seminars, and more!

Someday, I hope folks will be able to adopt a cat at the library...wouldn't that be great?

I've collected a few memes and cartoons, for your enjoyment.
All images copied from the interwebs, and used for mere entertainment.

Go visit your library!

Cats and Books

March 2 was National Read Across America Day.

You know me; books and cats, two of my favorite things!

Enjoy these images that I've picked up from the interwebs.
I especially enjoy bringing home a library book, to have the cats sniff and investigate it.

If it's a cat story, then I know the feline scent is strong from previous readers!
