Ringer

Our library system, The Suburban Library Cooperative, is having a summer contest; for every library you visit, you receive a stamp in a booklet.

Collect all of the stamps, and you earn some library swag.

In my effort to visit the twenty-one libraries, peruse the stacks, AND chat up the workers, I was at the Ray Township Public Library, which is housed in the 1863 schoolhouse pictured above.

The library director let me ring the school bell; I pulled on the rope three times...ding ding ding!

A box that I didn't know was on my life to-do/bucket list has been ticked.

Am thankful for that unexpected but darn thrilling experience.

No one would wake up to think, 'gosh, today I hope to ring an antique bell!'

However, I should have known it was going to be a special day, since Thomas visited me while I walked that morning.

Thomas was a stray cat, who was taken in by a family after he got stuck 'way up a telephone pole.

They keep him inside mostly, and I see him in the window from time to time, yet he was outside this day.

I'm thankful he allowed some lovin', and allowed a photo shoot too.

He's a Paddy O'Malley look-alike, no?

"While walking in the 'hood one day..."

 Ah, yes!

Plenty of wildlife on my rounds...

These deer were across the street from Sly's house!
Star shows off her belly!
A clowder of ferals that a wonderful neighbor cares for!
This was the first time I was able to get all four in one photo.
Well now...a happy space alien!
Thomas, being lovey-dovey.

He looks a lot like Paddy O'Malley, no?

Here is my handsome, in all of his tabby and green-eyed glory, as the sun lights up his furs!

A Sleepypod Win!

Guess what arrived yesterday?

A Charcoal Gray Sleepypod!!!
Image grabbed from the interwebs
😹😽😹

I won a SparkleCat Featuring Summer giveaway, and am beyond thankful to receive this wonderful cat bed/carrier!

I've wanted one for years, and now have one to call my own.

Oh yeah...a cat is supposed to use it, but first I must bask in the glorious look of it!

The weather today is gloomy and wet, so I cannot set up a photo shoot, but I will for the future.

Thank you so much, SparkleCat, Janiss, and Sleepypod!

More Neighborhood Cats

My first Thomas sighting this Spring!
In the past, Thomas allowed me to pet him, as I sat on the sidewalk.  This time, however, he wasn't moving from his window perch!

Sneakers is my half-way boyfriend Sly's brofur, and this was my first Sneaker sighting this Spring!
Sneakers was actually looking all around for Sly, since he's quite aware that Sly and I have a 'thing'.  But no, Sneakers, I'm talking to you, and throwing you smooches and lovey-dovey talk!  He too, like Thomas above, chose to remain aloof and out of reach.

At least I didn't have 'other cat' smells on me, which make Da Boyz AND The PO'M sniff me like crazy!
