I Spy

My friend and co-worker sends me photos of her cat Lana.

Lana obviously has been paid off in Temptations by our boss, to play secret agent!

Don't these images just make you laugh?

Am thankful for those who share the quirky, silly world of cats!

On The Job

About a month ago, my boss resigned from his job.

As an executive administrative assistant, not having an executive is scary!

Am so very thankful that with some company reorganization, someone stepped up and said, "I need you!"

So, I have an new executive who seems like a cool dude, and am on great terms with my old boss, now a CEO at his new company.

It's pleasant to be able to keep the cat food cans rolling in, no?

A few work-related giggles in honor of my gratefulness:

A Step Into The Future

I began my new job this week.

This Maneki-Neko sits on my desk; it has brought me luck!
A gift from Boss #1 from Japan.

The story:

Boss #1: Hired me in 2011 as executive administrative assistant, then he took another position in the company.

Boss #2: Great boss; he also took another position with another division.

Boss #3: During pandemic, my job title was eliminated, however Boss #4 offered me a position on the sales team.  I took it.

Boss #2, as a Corporate Global President now: "I need you, will you come work for me again?"

To Boss #4: "I must go!"

Being back in the swing of the executive team is delightful, and I've just begun to dip my toe into those waters.

I may drive to the office once a week for awhile, and The Eastside Cats will NOT have me for their human cat bed every single day.

But, keeping them in cat food is most impawtant, no?

Saving Birds

My boss has a robin that keeps pecking at the window in his office! We think the bird is seeing it's reflection, and so tries to run off 'the intruder', not understanding that he's after himself!  At an old job, we had a pair of cardinals that pestered the office window every morning in Spring, even though the employees tried to tape paper up to discourage them.

So, I purchased some WindowAlert Decals, to persuade Mr. Robin that he's got no beef with that window.  I have NOT received compensation for this product; I'm merely reporting on an item that I found online, and purchased for my work.

This is the packaging

Two of the four butterfly decals

How the decals look on the outside

Decals from the inside
The decals were created to prevent window strikes, which is when a bird flies into glass due to the reflection. I figure it should do the same thing for Mr. Robin; to make him aware!

I will report on any changes in Mr. Robin's behavior.  I have two more decals to use, and I found a perverse enjoyment at rummaging around the outside of the office building, where no one else ventures except the grounds crew.  Obviously, a bit of Mother Nature is all I need to make my day!

P.S. My apologies,  Trout TownTabbies! We know that you dislike birds, of any kind.  Please forgive us this time of being nice to birdies. (And I'll answer your email soon!)

Changes

How do I tell my new boss that he and my cat have the same name?

My 'old' boss of almost five years is moving to a new position within our company.  Today is his last day here.  I wish him good luck and fair sailing! My new supervisor is someone whom I've worked with in the past, and I think we'll get along just fine.  I may cry a tear or two, as the day slips away and the future comes marching in.  In a way, I am mourning the loss of a good relationship, and finely-tuned teamwork.

After this weekend, I will embrace the new!  If I live through the missing hour, that is....

"Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts." - Winston Churchill

P.S. I found out who sent the text of the cat in my last post!  Hahahaha!  A co-worker, and her cat is LeRoy.  She says he's a pill, since he glares at her other cats, making them hide from him.  But he's adorable!
