Ramped Up

It's Sweetnesday!

Her Majesty was having difficulty navigating the steps that I'd created for her from different levels of cardboard boxes.

She, of course, would not admit to such a thing.

After some research, I learned that steps are harder for aged kitty bones to use, while ramps eliminated the extra pressure on joints.

Therefore, The Hubby was tasked with creating a ramp from whatever supplies he could put together from his vast supply of carpentry detritus (read: scrap) that he's accumulated.
Et voila!
Swee Wee: "Whatever..."
Will admit that she seemed to ignore the thing, and remained on top of the bed much more than usual, and I despaired that she hated the ramp.

But an afternoon away from home (read: not hovering), we discovered that she's navigated around just fine; the food bowl was empty, the water bowl level was lower, and her private powder room accessed.

❤️That's my Sweetie!❤️

Thankful Thursday: Thermostat

Manny in front, Chili Bruce backing him
Double trouble!
Those paws can reach anywhere, if Da Boyz
have something to climb onto...

The Hubby has been moving boxes and stuffs around the house; cleaning, tossing away, and straightening.  He's stacked up items here and there, while he decides on the final rearrangement.

For a few days, the house seemed kinda cold, but hey, it's Autumn, the temps are dropping, we just aren't used to it, etc.  Then, one day, The Hubby realized that it's TOO COLD, and dammit, he's convinced that our furnace was dead.  He checked here, he checked there, and he began to realize that spending some serious $$$ was in our future, to replace that furnace.

By chance, he looked at the thermostat.  He set the temp higher, then lower.  Got nothing.

He looked at it again, and even brought out a flashlight.  AHA!!!!  It was turned OFF.  And why was it turned off?!?  Because he'd stacked enough stuffs nearby, that some kitty (or two) managed to get their paws up to the control switches and turned off the thermostat, thereby making the furnace go cold.

We are now roasty, toasty, and zero $$$ had to leave our pockets.  Only one or two piles were quickly removed from the thermostat area, and maybe some sort of cage should be designed to protect it!

Today, we are thankful that our furnace is working, the thermostat
is working, and that The Hubby learned a lesson in interior decorating.

Let's Hop!

Uber Rides

My first Uber customers!

Manny!
Second customer waiting for his turn...
Chili Bruce!
The Hubby LURVS Trader Joe's food markets.  He shops there a few times a week, and on a recent trip, he brought home items in a box rather than a tote or bag.  This box turned into a taxi or Uber for Manny and Chili Bruce, and I was happy to be their driver.  I carried Manny from the kitchen, into the dining room, then to his destination in the parlor.  My second customer Chili Bruce hopped on board, and his trip was almost the reverse of Manny's.  Really, I enjoyed the trips as much as they appeared to!

Disclaimer: No, Trader Joe's didn't pay us to mention them, or their empty wine boxes.  All products shown were purchased for us and by us.  We do not drink alcohol; this was truly just an empty box.  But how could a cat-owned-human turn down a free box?!?

Kill The Toy: Angel

Angel likes this long piece of fabric, that I drag along the tops of her boxes. The scratchy sound makes her pounce and bite!  She is NOT a fan of having her photo taken during a game session, however...but I managed a few snaps anyhow.  Angel looks cute, but she's a fierce hunter who takes no prisoners!

Mama, Don't Go!

Chuck: Mama, don't leave me!  I'm just ready to play!

Angel: 'snore'...hmm...wha?

Chuck: Look, I've got my toy ready and my talio is flippin'...
Stay home and play!
Sorry, sweet kitty boy...gotta earn green papers to pay for cat food and rolls of paper towels to clean up after you two!  Plus, I bring home wonderful boxes for cat use from the office.  We will play tonight, I promise...
