Angel vs. Whisker

Why does Angel want to eat her spent whisker?  Do any of your cats do this?

If you watch my videos, I won't let her swallow the thing, but it's definitely what she wanted to do!

P.S. I apologize for the broken jigsaw puzzle thing with my last post; I think it's fixed now.  Thanks for letting me know!

  1. How cute. I've never had a kitty do that, but they all ate a lot of fur cleaning themselves.

Have a fabulous day and rest of the week. Scritches to the kitties. ♥

  5. I would often hold Madi's up to her she'd sniff and bat at it but never tried to eat it. She only liked food with calories LOL

  6. Reminds me of cats that want to eat string. I wonder if they think these items are grass?

  7. She is funny trying to eat it! I'm off to see if I can do the puzzle.

  10. Hmmm...we've never tried that. Maybe there's some leftover breakfast on it. :)

  11. We bet Izzy would do that. After all, he tries to eat carpet strings on the cat tree. (Actually, he tries to eat anything he finds because--as you can tell by looking at him--Mom starves him.)

  12. It used to always amaze me to find one of my cats' whiskers. I didn't know they came out when I had my first cat. Haha!

  13. Would she do it ifin you weren't holdin' it fur her? Cuz you know, us kitties like to play with "eat" string type things. And like children, almost everythin' goes dtraight into our mouths. MOL Big hugs

  14. I've neither seen nor heard of a cat doing that. I find whiskers from time to time around the apartment, so I don't think any of my lot want to eat them.

  15. Perhaps this is why I very rarely find whiskers! My two both love to grab the brush and try to eat the fur off it when I brush them. If they're sat on my lap I have to reach as high as I can on the shelves to put the fur out of reach until I can get up to go to the bin, otherwise they'll reach for it and eat it.

  16. I've never seen any kitties eating whiskers! Angel seems very interested in her whisker :-)

  17. she may think it's a treat as opposed to knowing it's one of the whiskers. I save my kitties' whiskers. I'm a nut.

  18. I have no idea why cats do this but it's the same here - my cats do the same. Especially when these are not their whiskers haha! :D

  19. Yes! Olive tries to do this too, but I don’t let her either. Sophie too. What’s odd is that I think it could be anyone’s whisker, not theirs. With five cats, it’s hard to tell. Dexter sometimes overgrooms Olive and takes off her eyebrow whiskers, but I don’t know if he’s actually eating them.
