Kitty Cast Iron Doorstop Shhh...don't tell The Hubby! |
So, when friend BG and I visited Ditto Consignments & Design in New Baltimore, Michigan (right on Lake St. Clair!), I immediately headed for the cat display. Oh yeah, the folks who run this store hooked me like a largemouth bass! There were cat paintings, cat toys, cat dolls, and cat doorstops. I grabbed the kitty above, minutes before a couple showed up to paw through the cat collection too! There was also cat items displayed about the entire place; one has to search a bit, to uncover wonderful treasures. What fun!
Collecting stuff is not new to me; I have a Star Trek, Original Series book and game collection; a ton of Sherlock Holmes things; "The X-Files" TV show EVERYTHING, and quite a supply of Haunted Michigan books. The trick is to carry such treasures past The Hubby, without his noticing that I've got another armload of stuff! If he's spotted my new doorstop, he hasn't said anything.
😺😸😺
Oh yea, the Dad would have snapped that one up too!
ReplyDeleteYou know, you aren't helping by agreeing with me...LOL!
DeleteSuch a cute doorstop! And it's functional too!
ReplyDeleteHowever, the one door that needs a stop, needs one that weighs 1/2 a ton...to keep Da Boyz from bothering Angel! We use one of The Hubby's 20 lb. weights...
DeleteI would have snagged that doorstop too. It's adorable.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day. Scritches to the kitties. ♥
I know, right? But you are just encouraging me now! I think I need an intervention...
DeleteI'm collecting cats and coffee pins ;) I have a lot of them too :D
ReplyDeleteNice to know that I'm not alone!
DeleteAdorable and at least this one doesn't require any work or socialization. MOL

ReplyDeleteMOL! Sounds like you and I have the same problem. I, too, am a collector of things! And I would've snatched that up, too.
ReplyDeleteThe doorstop is useful, she needs no excuse.
ReplyDeleteI would've brought it home too! There is cat stuff everywhere you look in my home. I'm a collector at heart too :)

ReplyDeleteThat is awesome. I'm pretty sure your hubby just has learned to accept it now.

ReplyDeletedarling darling doorstep!
ReplyDeleteI have noticed you have quite a lot of cat stuff lol. And you find such great items. This cat doorstops is adorable!
ReplyDeleteA cast iron anything is valuable to me. What do Da Boyz think of it? As to collecting, that reminded me that I once had the blueprints to the original 'Star Trek' series Enterprise. They were professionally done and covered the whole ship. I have no idea where they went. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteHow cute!
