Thankful Thursday

Angel: "Mama!  Let's go home!"

Angel hasn't been feeling well.  Ejections from both front and back, if you get my drift.

Therefore, she and I were at Cats Veterinary Hospital today, and they are running tests on her blood and urine.  The list of possible reasons for Angel's illness is long, but we won't know until the results arrive in a few days.  One thing we all agree on: she's lost weight, and she needs to keep food in her tummy!

Angel received Cerenia.  The office even taught me how to pill Angel, although The Hubby has years of experience with pilling because of Chuck.

I was covered in Angel's white fur, since she sheds like CRAZY when at the vet's office.  However, no barking dogs, and a delightfully peaceful and professional building kept her from climbing up my coat.  I too felt calmer, after being on pins and needles since I made the appointment.

I choose Cats Veterinary Hospital because they DO NOT DECLAW.  And, they are less than 2 miles from home.  For this, I am thankful.

While there, I noticed that there were flameless candles lit, and a sign that said when the candles glow, that means someone is saying goodbye to their feline friend, and to be respectful.  My heart twisted at knowing a cat was making their journey to The Rainbow Bridge, but how caring is the staff that they let the rest of us know?  I wanted to hug every person in the building at that moment!

  4. Cerenia is wonderful. Angel Madi's tummy was often helped by this. She got shots at the vet. I had a few pills at home for emergency, i.e. weekends. They are VERY bitter and we weren't the best at giving them. She was the first feline I ever had to pill.
Hugs Angel and Mom and Dad

  6. Angel darling...please get better. And I had tears learning that a dear one was leaving for the Bridge when the candle gaslit. How wonderful of them to do that.

  13. Let us know the results of Angel's tests, please. You've been reading about my Tucker; Angel's problems sound something like his. If they are the same, at least they will be treatable. But many problems give similar symptoms, so I hope the cause in this case is nothing significant.

  14. Aww, the poor dear Angel. I'm crossing my paws for her and dad says he hopes everything turns out okay with her. Dad says he felt the exact same way about those who took care of his old buddy Orbit when he began showing signs of age & illness. He said everyone was so loving and caring and showed so much compassion. It's wonderful that there are such places these days. Hope all turns out well for dear Angel.

  17. We have two vets - one for our dog (an all animal vet) and one for our cats (cat only vet). Both do the candle thing as well. I've only been in the office once when it was lit, and I felt so sad. I hope Angel is okay!

  19. I hope Angel feels better right now.

I'm happy, that you support 'not declawing social movement'. It's so cruel to deprive cats their claws! I can't understand it...
    Luckily it's forbidden in Poland!

A lit candle - oh, that's so pure and gentle; saying farewell to the friend is really hard... :(
