Today is the anniversary of the first Lunar Landing: July 20, 1969.
I remember watching the TV, seeing the grainy black and grey images.
Humankind can be so amazingly smart, and so stupid.
Hoping that the human race can make amends for the disasters that they've caused to Mother Earth and her children.
Going to the Moon shouldn't be about looking for the next place to build houses for humans, but about learning that our planet is the best one we'll ever have, and that we need to take care of it.

Those boys are so sweet! Our Dad remembers watch the moon landing too, it was pretty exciting!

Aaah your post is just what I needed today! So nice. And those cats are gorgeous. It is very cold here in SA today, my beautiful black boy is lying at my feet as I type this and little clever madam Elza is snuggled in front of the fire.

Well, the moon landing happened on mama’s bithday, a moon child is she! And those two silky wonders are just too darling for words.

They are such cuties. We watched the launch this morning.
ReplyDeleteThey look like two little sleek seals in that first pic. Our mom also watched the lunar landing on a B&W. In the years before that and when she was in elementary school, they'd all gather in the auditorium to watch space launches, every time! It was a huge deal back then.

ReplyDeleteKitty scuffles...yup, I remember those...and I for sure remember that lunar landing! Very exciting...and a once in a lifetime event...that is to say, the first time of most anything like that is just so great!
