Postcard: No Lions?

A postcard from my recent trip to University of Chicago, in Illinois.

Day 2: Lions at Chicago Institute of Art
c. 1900, image of the Lions
Taken from the interwebs
"Our Lions are being conserved.
Just like other artworks in our collection, the museum's beloved bronze lions - sculptures made in 1893 by Edward Kemeys - require expert care to preserve them for generations to come. Both lions are currently being treated off-site and are scheduled to return home by the end of July."

Art Institute bookends, for sale in the museum gift shop, was the best we could do.

No lions for us!
