It's Sweetnesday!
Our readers may not remember that she was Mama before Sweetie became her name.
Why 'Mama'?
Because she was pregnant when she first appeared in our yard.
Having been TNR'd in 2009 after her babes were born and weaned, Mama really was no longer an accurate name.
Now, she watches the world from her window perch.
Sweetie: "I'd enjoy my perch more if there wasn't a commentary going on..." |
Sweetie: "Okay, if you won't quiet down, I'll just take a look-see outside!" |
Mama Racoon and four wee ones!
So cute.
(The video was shot through the closed window and dirty screen, near dusk, so it's pretty grainy.)
I love learning more about Sweetie. Somehow I missed that she was a mama.
ReplyDeleteHope your babies got good homes Sweetie, just like you did.
ReplyDeleteThose baby raccoons are cute, but I hope they move on from your yard.
It would be safer for all.

Bandits! Mum liked The Windsor Knot. A cute mystery with the Queen doing the detecting thinking.
ReplyDeleteAww... lovely story about Sweetie and those racoons are cute!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are now living a carefree life, Sweetie!
ReplyDeleteThat mama Racoon looks like she has her paws full!

Sweetie is a cutie pie. Love the video. They are so cute.
ReplyDeleteHave a purrfect day. Scritches to all the kitties. ♥
Is that a scratcher behind Sweetie? If so, I just bought Roary the same one!!! Hope you are all keeping cool. It's insane out there!
ReplyDeleteYou really are a sweet, sweet, Sweetie! Those wee babies are adorable!
ReplyDeleteSweetie is better as Sweetie. I hope all her kittens survived. I had a family of four raccoons coming to my feeding station: a mother and three of her offspring. Now, only one comes periodically...
ReplyDeleteWe think she lives up to her amended name, murder mitts or no!
ReplyDeleteLook at those little babies!
I didn't know Sweetie was a mama. I am glad you had her TNR'd and eventually got her inside. XO
ReplyDeleteI was pregnant before I moved in with mom too, and I was called Zell. I would have preferred Mama.
ReplyDeleteI remember when Sweetie moved indoors and she has never looked back. The raccoon babies look cute.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that Sweetie (Mama) is able to watch the other mamas from INSIDE now. That raccoon and her babies are adorable.
ReplyDeleteYour video looks quite good to me. :D Best wishes, my dears.
