St. Andrew's Day: Scotland

St. Andrew’s Day is celebrated each year on 30 November.

People across the Scotland gather to celebrate St. Andrew the Apostle, and share good times.

The day is usually marked with a celebration of Scottish culture, including dancing, music, food and drink, with parties going on long into the cold winter night.

As I read and listen to audiobooks by Scot authors or authors who write about Scotland, I figured I should honor this holiday, with some memes.

Collected by me: a wee dafty, maybe a numpty, sure an eejit!😹

A short list of some favorite Scottish books:

Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series
Marion Todd's Detective Clare Mackay series
Peter May's Lewis Trilogy
Kelley Armstrong's A Rip Through Time series
Ann Cleeve's Shetland Island series

  3. #1 follows the adventures of a very cute Springer Spaniel puppy in Scotland on Facebook. His name is Freddy and he often talks of being "drookit" after his walks. That means sopping wet!

  4. These are all priceless! I giggled more than once. It also interests me because my family has Scottish heritage -- they'd sure know what to do about that rogue lump of hair!

  6. WHAT a pleasure and fun to read! By the way, according to Ancestry, half my ancestors are British, the rest Scottish.
