Dol dhan bhòrd-leabhar

Tartan Day is celebration of Scottish heritage and the cultural contributions of Scottish and Scottish-diaspora figures of history.

"Dol dhan bhòrd-leabhar" is Scottish Gaelic for Go To The Library (according to Google), as this week is National Library Week, which is always the second full week in April.
I love the library!

As has been mentioned in the past, I'd be without any money if I purchased all of the books that I've read recently!

I attend free lectures, and use the 3-D printer, and help with jigsaw puzzles.

I check out books, I use apps to get ebook and audiobooks.

Chat up a library worker when you are next in a library, and ask about what's new: you'll be amazed at what is going on there!

  1. Happy Tartan Day! And we should all support our libraries. If we don't we lose an immensely valuable and pleasurable resource.

  2. My tiny branch still offers story time for kids. And they have a book club meeting too. The main library has so many meeting rooms that they offer much more. Before covid they kept jigsaws out, but no more unfortunately. I am constantly reading. And how disappointed I get if a new author does not hold my interest, lol.

  3. It took awhile, but I remember doing the research to find my Grandma's (along with her 11 siblings) proper tartain: all MacMillan's ... who settled on PEI, Canada ... loved and saved it's history ...

  4. Can't beat a bit of tartan, or tweed for that matter! MOL The mockingbird is too funny, epic in fact! Loved your comment on Friday, all of those authors are read here too, did you read Quicksilver by Callie Hart? If not, get the audio version, the narration is superb.

    1. Am waiting for book 2 in the Fae & Alchemy series to publish in November, so I can read them back to back. Let me know of any other books that you recommend!

  5. I keep meaning to visit our local library but keep getting sidetracked for some silly reason. ~shakes head~ The mockingbird one is a great pun. Thanks for sharing. And best wishes, my dear.
