It's His Bed Now

 It's Formerly Feral Friday, starring Henry The Ninth!

Henry is now a regular overnight sleeper with me.

He allows petting, and he snugs up to me.

He also sleeps all day on the bed, but he dislikes the quilt and fleece blanket (my cold-weather combo), so I rolled them back.

I even went grabbyhands and put him on my lap yesterday, as I sat in my reading glider.

He didn't freak out, and allowed me to make kissy noises at him, then he jumped down.

"Look, up in the sky!"

 Early Tuesday morning, March 3, there was a total lunar eclipse.

It began about 4 am EST, with totality starting about 6 am to finish 7 am-ish.

I was outside at about 5 am, then went back inside to warm up at 5:30 am.

By 6 am, the clouds had rolled in, and I saw NUTHIN'.

However, the journey was worth it, and I managed to snap a few images.

A nibble of the moon missing, about 5:08 am.

A big sliver still, but the Earth's shadow covered much of the moon, about 5:30 am, and it was hazy.

I stood in the backyard, facing west.

Am thankful to be able to indulge my desire to witness sky and celestial events; solar eclipse in April 2024, Northern Lights now a few times, meteor showers, lunar eclipse, comets, the ISS, and I take photos of cloud patterns too.

Years ago, The Hubby insisted that he accompany me when I wanted to excursion out to watch the night sky, but now he makes sure there is enough fuel in The Cat Car, so I can go and do as I like.

You see, he was bitten by mosquitoes, and although there isn't a bug in sight right now, he's had enough, and why tempt fate?

There is something to be said about the quiet of watching the sky while solo.

And not worrying about getting enough sleep for work the next day; yay for retirement.

The trick is to capture each when there is enough light, which is rather up and down 'round here, from sunshiney to cloudy/snowy in a matter of minutes.

It's time for Sunday Selfies!

This first day of March is the purrfect time for a Henry-up-on-the-bed selfie.

When I stir in the early morning, he nips up and snuggles against my leg with his purr machine on.

This has happened for about three days.

I try to stay in place for as long as possible, as encouragement for him to remain with me, and he enjoys petting until I lapse into sleep again.

For a youngish lad living rough for who-knows-how-long, this achievement makes me so happy.

We will NOT turn back the hands of the clock.

We cannot recreate any society that once was.

I personally refuse to live in a backwards-facing political climate.

The present is current; the past is GONE.

Pull up your adult-ass britches and jump into the NOW.
