Inky

It's Sweetnesday.

It is really difficult to get a good pic of Queen Sweet.

Her eyes are captured oddly, or the light from the windows is too strong, and usually the focus is wonky.

As if that prevents me for trying.

She is my Little Peanut, my Swee Wee, my Crabby Pants with the whiskey-and-cigarettes voice, who lays across my chest, and clings like a limpet to the underside of a boat when I try to get up!

Wet and Rainy

The 'O' Cats's Frozen Waterbowl

Chucky's under there!
Visited with family on Thanksgiving Thursday, and stayed away from the crowds on Friday.  The photos below are from my neighborhood walk, when it was misty and chilly.  But the colors of everything seemed so alive!

As much as I prefer Spring, Summer and Autumn, there is no denying that cold and dreary can bring out beauty too!  And the tree dogs were barking and carrying on, and they made me laugh and laugh; such big woofies, trying to show me that they were toughguys.  They are too adorable!

Ridgeback

Can you tell that I've been stroking my hand down Sweetie's back?  I took these photos to show; 1) that Sweetie gets as much lovin' from me as Patty O'Malley does, only he'll hold still for photos while I have to sneak up on her, and 2) Sweetie has speckles of white in her black fur.

I tricked Sweetie for this photo,
by using the selfie function.

Sweetie in Spring

Sweetie is a lovely kitty, but snapping a good photo of her is difficult!  First off, she dislikes the camera, whether I use a 'real' one, or just my cell phone.  She walks away or sits far off, just to show me that she does not enjoy being a cat model!  Secondly, the contrast between her fur and daylight...even if it's overcast...is problematic.  Rest assured, I will continue my quest of getting good photos of Sweetie, whether she likes it or not.

The Hubby has also thrown down the challenge of petting her this summer, and I know he will meet his goal.  What The Hubby does not know yet, is my plans for additional steps nailed into the backyard deck and beams, resulting in two ways to access the second floor cat flap.  I believe Sweetie will not even try to jump up, because Patty O'Malley could block off her escape route.  You didn't think I'd given up on coaxing them inside the house, did you?

Patty o' the morn!

Patty O'Malley followed me to my car this morning, as I tried to leave on time for work.  He was meowing and lovin' and so sweet...

Patty had no intention of standing still; I could NOT get a clear photo of him!

And yes...I was late for work.

P.S. The Hubby witnessed this entire exchange from the front porch, where he sipped his coffee and chuckled.

Hold still!

Sweetie says nope!

Patty walks through my Sweetie photoshoot...again

I've got too many photos of Patty's bum!

Now, that's what I'm talkin' 'bout!

Unflattering

Geez, could you take some more UNFLATTERING photos of me?!?  Huh?!?
How embarrassing...

Cats at Work? Yes, at Ferray Corporation in Japan!

Check this out!

http://www.odditycentral.com/animals/japanese-company-fills-offices-with-cats-to-help-employees-unwind-and-improve-productivity.html

Wish I could work there!  Years ago, I was employed in a very small, family-run business whose owners brought their dog in on Saturdays.  While I stuffed envelopes and licked stamps (yes, that long ago!), the dog would put his big head in my lap.  I had no idea how great that was, until I worked in other places...especially big corporate offices...where the mere thought of an animal in the office is frowned upon.  Maybe I'll accidentally leave a copy of this news article on the boss's desk...do you think that might help?

Guess I'll just have to satisfy my cat-craving at the office with a cat calendar, and photos of my kitties (I have more framed photos than shown above...and a photo of the hubby as a boy...), and of course I wear my cat-fur covered clothes!

Cat's Scarf Found!

Chuck in 2006

Angel in 2077

Glamor-puss Chuck in 2009

Decades ago, my sister gifted me with a pretty pink, white and black wool scarf that she purchased in Italy.  I've used the scarf for warmth all these years, plus both Chuck and Angel have benefited from it's pretty colors.  However, I lost the scarf last year, and went through the coldest and snowiest two years (well, it felt like two years!) of my life without it.  A precious gift gone, and I felt terrible to have lost something so important.

Imagine my amazement when the hubby opened a cupboard in the dining room yesterday, and there was my scarf!  Yay!  I hand-washed it today, and it's drying out near the heat vent.  Can't wait to put it back into use, and no doubt Angel and Chuck will soon be wearing my scarf again too.  How the heck the thing ended up in that spot is any one's guess, but am taking it as a good sign that it was recovered!
