The Chuckster in black and white |
In addition, he didn't get all 'stinked up' by vet techs wearing perfume either, as he has the last few times. Angel KNEW something was up, but she just remained wary for a day, without any hissing. Two thumbs up!
We are having a slight issue with Chucky not eating as robustly as he once did, while Angel manages to devour anything that Chuck ignores. So, he's a lightweight, while his twin sister is getting a bit too zaftig! The Hubby says that when I'm away at work, he slips Chuck extra food when Angel is not around, hoping to balance the scales. In addition, all of the special-brand foods that the holistic veterinarian has recommended aren't doing the trick, so everyone is now eating Trader Joe's food (at $.79 a 5.5 oz can!) I will travel to the chain pet store tomorrow, and see what else I can find to temp Chuck's tastebuds. Human baby food and Fancy Feast may be on the list, per input from other cat folks who've been in our spot before.
good job Chuck!!
ReplyDeleteFinding a good tempting food is never easy, good luck shopping!
ReplyDeleteOHHHHHHHHHHH no not a stinky vet tech. Mom cannot stand it when humans wear so much smelly stuff and I can surely understand why the other kitties were sniffing.
ReplyDeleteI went thru a spell of being finicky with canned food. Vet wanted me on Senior food but I did not like any..at least after the first meal. Then mom found Pro Plan Prime Plus for 7+ years. I love it.
Evidently it is fairly new and they make a kibble formula too. Lots of flavors. My least fav is turkey and giblets. I like it ok fresh out of the can but once in the fridge it looses its appeal.
All of the fish flavors are winners
Hugs madi your bfff
I am SO glad the spot on his lung is gone! We ran into this problem as Tucker aged. He wasn't as interested in eating as much. Have you tried warming up the food a little? Fish flavored Fancy Feast worked ok, as did rotiessiere chicken pieces, some flavors of Sheba.
ReplyDeletedood...glad ta heer ya getted a grate ree port N if ya like it; fancy feest kitten will help put a few ouncez on ya... til ya get bak ta fitin weight !~ ♥♥☺☺
ReplyDeleteGood news ! Sometimes we get finicky about eating too - it's a fun game! - and then mom brings out the fancy feast broth toppers or the Sheba cuts. Lots of gravy.

Glad to hear Chuck is doing better. We hope you can find him something to eat that he really likes. The mom knows all about that...getting us to eat sometimes is a struggle.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear that Chuck is better and his lungs are fine! Picky eaters are hard to please.
ReplyDeleteOur Georgia is a bit picky too.

Chuck is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI am glad the shadow in his lung is gone. I hope he starts eating better. Have you tried heating the food? That helps sometimes.
ReplyDeleteThat is GREAT NEWS! We took a vote and think Chuck should get his own 2 piece meal from KFC to celebrate!
ReplyDeleteBlood pressure in the tail, huh? Well, that's new to me as well. As for the eating, I long for a good hearty meal. This special kidney stuff they got me on is, well, boring and not very filling. Oh well, for my own good, I suppose.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear Chuck's vet visit went well. Yahoo for no stinky vet tech! The other commenters have such wonderful suggestions. Hope you find something Chuck likes.
