I have enjoyed Steve Martin's humor and acting for years.
He's also a novelist and playwright, an award-winning banjo player, and an art collector.
My favorite movies of his:
"Leap of Faith" with Debra Winger and Liam Neeson
"My Blue Heaven" with Rick Moranis and Joan Cusack
"L.A. Story" with Sarah Jessica Parker
"All of Me" with Lily Tomlin
I enjoyed his novel, "An Object Of Beauty"

Am pretty sure no cats appeared in any of these productions, however that's no reason to not wish him a fine 74th birthday!
For your viewing pleasure, Steve Martin's infamous "Saturday Night Live" performance from 1978.
Awwww, Happy Birthday to the Wild N' Crazy guy!
ReplyDeleteOMG, I'd forgotten about those skits too!
DeleteKing Tut, classic! I've enjoyed many of his movies too, my favorite being Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to see a really unusual Steve Martin film, I suggest "Novocaine"...

He's one of the greats, imho.
DeleteHappy Birthday indeed to a very talented musician (he plays banjo like he was born with one in his hands)and actor and writer.
ReplyDeleteHugs Cecilia
If I remember correctly, he learned to place banjo while working at Disneyland as a youth.
DeleteI didn't know he was a cat person. Very cool. And I recently saw this clip. He had amazing talent. I especially loved his Father of the Bride movies.
ReplyDeleteI love those movies too, however, the originals with Elizabeth Taylor and Spencer Tracy will always make me sit down and watch 'em again.
DeleteWhat good taste he has in pets too !
ReplyDeleteMy favorite of his is Roxanne. I had no idea he loves cats.
ReplyDeleteCant believe he's 74!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know he was a cat lover! What a handsome man too.
ReplyDeleteGotta love a cat man!
ReplyDeleteLOVED the video and I remember that!
ReplyDeleteThe mom is a big Steve Martin fan. She has seen him in concert...and even in person on the Johnny Carson show when she was in LA one time.
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha ha ha! That was great to see! Those were SNL's glory years for sure ;-) Not that *I*, Spitty the Kitty, remember that ancient history! The Human says her fave Steve Martin movie is Roxanne.
ReplyDeleteTW always liked Steve Martin. I think her fave SM movie is the same as Spitty's human if that's the takeoff on the opera with the big nose.
ReplyDeleteSeventy-four? Really? Good Heavens... I love "Roxanne". It has one of film history's great sight-gags.
ReplyDeleteHe ALWAYS makes me giggle, thanks for the laughter Steve Martin and Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteAww, I love the cat photos! Steve Martin is great!
