Old and New

My neighborhood has a wealth of wildlife.

First up, is my old friend Kiki; glad to see him up and about.

Kiki, an old friend
Old, as in age, and in years of knowing him!
💕

Then, I met two new friends:
Henry and Hermione!
Henry!
He's not fierce at all...

Prim, although her tag reads Hermione
She is polydactyl on her front mitts!

Henry and Prim's human and I had a delightful yammer, and all safety precautions were observed.

Both cats enjoy being petted, and they come when called!

💗

But wait...there's more!

I met my first owl in the neighborhood, and managed to snap a poor photo.

See the screech owl just about in the center of this photo?
I've heard both Screech and Great Horned Owls calling in the evenings, but could not put eyes on them...until now!

Sorry, Trout Talking Tabbies, who seriously dislike all birds...

Now, this was a good day in the neighborhood!

🦉🐈💗

Jigsaw Puzzle, and it's not easy!

  1. Lovely neighbours!
There's not a lot of outdoor cats around here, and the few that are... let's just say Relic isn't a welcoming neighbour.

  7. You have nice friends in your neighbourhood.
We have screech owls and barn owls here. The screech owl will insist on sitting on the phone pole outside our bedroom window and screeching away at 2 am.

  14. I'm glad Prim wanted to be petted: she looks ready to bolt.

I saw the owl in the tree. I saw one late at night, silhouetted against the sky at the top of a telephone pole right above where I feed the outsider-cats. He hasn't been back in a couple of months, so hopefully he found pickings poor in my part of the world...
