Just got home from jury duty!
PO'Monday on Friday!
Zonked out! |
Enjoying a beat-up scratcher. |
Rolling on the throw rug! |
Paddy O'Malley's dental appointment is Thursday, August 19.
The blood test show that he is healthy, and able to be put under anesthesia.
His T-4 (thyroid) number is elevated; something to monitor.
His weight is a smidge under 11 lbs, and they guesstimate that he's about 10 years old.
He's FIV negative, and has been given the okay to mingle with the other Eastside Cats.
Paddy received a shot of antibiotic, to help heal his licked-off fur bald spots, and it appears to be working.
If his constant licking continues, we'll consider steroids or something to ease his allergic reaction.
Most likely, he's allergic to flea bites, and I learned that the flea/tick stuff I've been dosing him with for years only kills when the flea bites.
There are other meds that kill fleas if they just land on the cat; we'll consider using this if being inside and away from fleas doesn't cure him.
At this point, I sit with him in his room multiple times a day, and allow him to explore Sweetie's Apartment when she is asleep in the bedroom.
Going very, very S-L-O-W-L-Y with any introductions.
I LURV The PO'M!!!
💕😽💕
Sounds like some good news from the vet! Going slowly sounds good - I'll be interested to see the progress!
ReplyDeleteSounds like things are coming along just fine and I'm happy he's okay being inside. It's time he was comfortable. You rock.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day and weekend. ♥
He looks like he's enjoying inside life. Antihistamines can help with the licking (rather than going to steroids). Let me know if you want any recommendations.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful
ReplyDeleteTHIS IS JUST SO AWESOME! IM VERY HAPPY!
ReplyDeleteWe are so happy to see Paddy like that, he looks so happy and relaxed!
ReplyDeleteOh PO'M. I am so in love with you.
ReplyDeleteHappy PO'M ... Happy MO'M!
ReplyDeleteHe is a cutie. I love seeing him inside. I am glad he can get his dental- Ibest get crocheting. XO
ReplyDeleteWe all love the PO'M. Gertrude was allergic to fleas and she used to get bumps all over her body. TW tried to keep a flea collar on her but she was an outdoor cat like Paddy used to be. Glad he's healthy except for the teeth.
ReplyDeleteIf I was a cat and got jury duty I would be tired too. It sounds like a good blood report. We wish you all the luck with the teeth cleaning.
ReplyDeleteAll positive news regarding the PO'M!
ReplyDeleteSure hope the fleas stop pestering him...
Hang in there PO'M...you are very much loved!!
I’d love to know what flea meds don’t work! Mama uses frontline once a month between my ears, scratching nicely with the little delivery thingy until all is gone between the hairs and it feels nice. So glad about the results, Paddy, and I hope your toothies are better after treatment! I have practically none on one side…sigh.
