Go Batty

Bat Week!

Am a bit tardy with this information.

Bats are:

Pollinators
Pest Consumers
Seed Dispersers

And they are cute, even if they are upside down...

  1. Dearest Vicky,
Bats sure are cute and they keep our property mosquito free!
Did rescue once a Vleery (Vleermuis is Dutch for bat).

  2. Love seeing bats in our back yard. Our small park system put up a bat house the size of a kids tree house a few years ago! It took a while but it is being used now.

    1. Ooh, glad they are using your bathouse! Our neighbor put up one years ago, and the bats have ignored it, bummer.

  3. We get a lot of bats here and I enjoy seeing them. They are the tiny pipistrelle, but I am not so sure I would be as happy if they were the big vampire bats!

    1. It's surprising how much of our daily human needs are assisted by bats, small ones and big, scary ones.

  5. I like bats. They're like flying cats. I don't know why people dislike them.

  9. I love the bats! When we'd take the kids to the zoo, we'd spend at least an hour watching the bats.
