Alley Cat Allies created National Feral Cat Day in 2001 as a call to action to raise awareness about community cats (also called feral or stray cats), promote Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), and empower the millions of compassionate people around the United States who care about cats and kittens to drive change on their behalf.
We ❤️ feral cats!
I live in a very rural community and it breaks my heart everyday to see cats running around that do not have homes. I can't even begin to imagine trying to catch them all and I certainly cannot afford to feed them because of the wild life. Cats do not deserve to live like this.
ReplyDeleteWe sure love our ferals. I lost track long ago of the number of ferals we got trapped and all fixed up.
ReplyDeleteWe have two kitties that were left to their own devices. The kitten was easy to tame, but Lil' Bit was more challenging. Took us months to get her to be halfway tame. We're happy we have both of them.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day and rest of the week. Scritches to the kitties. ♥
Thanks for spreading the word. I do more of a tnk- trap, neuter and keep. XO
ReplyDeleteOur shelter supports lots of work with TNR people. It's a beautiful, hard, heartbreaking work, and very rewarding.
ReplyDeleteMom put out a heated house for her feral Mommycat and when she checked in on her last eve, the possum was in the house, ha!
ReplyDeleteI fed my ferals today
ReplyDeleteSuch an important message on such an important day. We are big proponents of TNR. It definitely works!
ReplyDeleteYes, indeed. I am still on the job, trying to capture a couple more.
ReplyDeleteAmen.
