Having witnessed a total solar eclipse in April, and my first Aurora Borealis pics in May, am now a regular skywatcher.
Went out around 10:00 pm local time, and drove to my favorite viewing spot, hoping to score some color.

Clouds, sky, some stars, but no Northern Lights |
|
Orion, with many power lines that I couldn't see in the dark... |
|
...and then as I turned around to walk back to The Cat Car, I saw my shadow, and wondered WHAT THE HEY?!?!?
Took a beat for me to remember I was wearing my cat ear hoodie!
After not snapping any nifty sky events, having a little chuckle at my own expense was the purrfect way to wrap up the day! 😹
❤️Purring for folks who are dealing with Hurricane Milton, and those working to clean up after Hurricane Helene.❤️ Let's Hop! |
You definitely looked like the alien!
ReplyDeleteDearest Vicky,
ReplyDeleteThat shadow of you—with a cat ear hoodie!
It shows that we all become that with what we engage throughout life...🐱

I'm always excited when I see Orion in the sky. That was a great picture that you took of it in yourself. Love the ears.
ReplyDeleteThere might be another aurora tonight. I was very sad I couldn't get out and chase it earlier this week. Some people in my area got some pretty good pics.
ReplyDeleteDave and I did go out Tuesday night, but apparently it was in between the "storms" and he was getting impatient and honestly, I think a little scared about being on a lonely dark road in the middle of a couple of corn fields.... can you say someone has watched too many scary movies?
Yes, I'll be out Thursday and Friday nights. We are farther south than you, I think.
DeleteHA! That's a fun shadow shot! Thanks for joining Angel Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteToo funny! You forgot you had your kitty ears on!! Love the sky photos.
ReplyDeleteLove your "alien" look!
ReplyDeleteIs that your shadow? It is impressive
ReplyDeleteThis would have startled me also, at least for a moment. Fun photo!
ReplyDeleteNice hoodie. Our neighbor called tonight to tell us The Northern Lights were visible, but we missed them. XO
ReplyDeleteYou may be thought you had sprouted a couple of little horns...
