Thankful Thursday: Neighborhood Cats

Wee sweetpea wouldn't come out from under the car...
but is wearing a collar, so not a stray

R.I.P. Stormy
I see plenty of cats while walking in my neighborhood.  Wished I could blame my trip, fall, and busted hand bones on seeing a cat, but nope; it was plain inattention and heaved up concrete that caused that.  I try to snap photos of the cats I see, whether in a window, or out and about.  I am thankful that I have a bounty of kitties to engage my attention, plus the neighbors who I chat with, as I explain that I love cats but aren't planning on running off with theirs!

The first photo was taken yesterday.  A new cat in town!

The second photo was from July 2017, of Stormy who was so curious about me!  I learned the other day that he was very sick, and has crossed The Rainbow Bridge.  He wasn't looking terrific that last time I saw him.  Another neighbor explained weeks later that she too noticed that Stormy was ill, and she fed him a few times, then advised his owner that he needed veterinary care.  Apparently, Stormy was euthanized.  I'll miss the boy, since he walked up to me, meowing his little head off, and flopped down to allow petting.  Farewell, Stormy; I am thankful that I got to know you!

Let's Hop!

  5. It's always sad to lose a neighborhood kidlet, especially one so happy to see you. Nice that there's a new girl in town, though. You two will be friends in no time.

  9. Poor Stormy. It doesn't sound like his people were very attentive to his needs. At least he is out of pain now. Godspeed, Stormy.

  10. It's sad story :( And actually I'm against to let cats just walk without any care. I know that some people think that they're safe, but the true is that they aren't :( I'm working in cat sanctuary and I know a lot of cases like these :( Cat hit with a car, cat who has hidden near the car engine, cat who was beaten by someone who hates cats, cat who has eaten some rubbish and got sick :( Too many unpleasant cases to let my cats to just walk around...
