Angel, on Thanksgiving Day, 2007 |
Friendly Fill-Ins are hosted by Four-Legged Furballs and 15 And Meowing!
The fill-in statements this week are:
1. Black Friday _________.
2. A pet peeve of mine at this time of year is _________.
3. 'Tis the season for _________.
4. I never jumped on the _________ bandwagon.
And my answers;
1. Black Friday is an awful title for the day! Why not 'Fabulous Friday' or "Frivolous Friday'? I understand that retailers use the term as a way to gauge whether they were in the red (lost money) or in the black (made money), but let's grow up and find a new term. Heck, why not call it "Shopping Day"?
2. A pet peeve of mine at this time of year is the cold and snow. I am NOT A FAN! Perhaps I need to find a reason to live half of the year in the Southern Hemisphere, and the other in the Northern Hemisphere...
3. 'Tis the season for counting the days until SPRING! See answer #2 above. Seriously, I keep a spreadsheet and everything...
4. I have never jumped on the Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, or Game of Thrones bandwagons.
Now it's your turn!

I agree with every one of your fill-ins. I say once Christmas is over then spring should arrive. I'm not a fan of the cold either.
ReplyDeleteI linked this post to Feline Friday.
Have a purrfect day and weekend. ♥
I enjoyed your fill ins.
ReplyDeleteI especially identify with #4. I read about 1/2 of the first Harry Potter book. That was it. I guess my imagination doesn't fall in to categories of any of these. If I cannot envision myself in a situation it is hard to get involved.
Hugs cecilia
Thank you for your Thanksgiving wishes at our blog! Our human was out of town, so she's a bit behind in her computer duties! Love and purrs from Deb and the Zee/Zoey gang.
ReplyDeleteI don't like winter either. We don't often get snow but it rains almost constantly.
ReplyDeleteGiven that we have had a few days with a wind chill factor, Mum is not a fan of cold weather either :/
ReplyDeleteAs for #4,mum says you are missing out on all those good lookin' Numenorean
men in LOTR ;)
MOL!
Purrs Georgia,Julie and JJ
Great answers and Brrrrr Humbug on the winter snow stuff!
ReplyDeleteWe're with you on Black Friday. We never understood why they would call it that. Shopping Friday would be better.
ReplyDeleteSuzanne and I watched The Lord of the Rings trilogy ONCE. Never again. It is too long. I have never had any part of the other two. Have a blessed week.
ReplyDeleteTotally disagree on 2 and 3, but totally agree with 4!
ReplyDeleteMy Mom liked your answers to the Friday Fill-ins AND your Angel picture!
ReplyDeleteI, Marvelous am happy she came home from her holidays! I have told her sh can not go away again

I like winter but probably because I live in sunny Southern California! And I definitely jumped on the Harry Potter bandwagon! But I think I was the targeted age group when the books came out.
ReplyDeleteBlack Friday is for black cats!
ReplyDeleteThank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I agree that Shopping Friday would sound better. You sound like my hubby counting the days to warmer weather :)Now that I have hot flashes, I love the cold. I am not into any of those crazes either. Have a nice weekend! XO
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on Number 4....I'm not counting the days til Spring, I like the seasons...and I enjoy the cold early in the season. I HATE Black Friday and would never venture out to the stores like the crazy people lol. Love that photo of Angel!
ReplyDeleteOh I love the colder weather we've been having! Winter is my favorite season. It is way too hot here most of the year. One year, it was 89° on Christmas Eve. That is just not a Christmas temp. :)
ReplyDeleteYou made me giggle with your spreadsheet comment. Maybe I should make one counting down the days to possibly tolerable temps. We've been here on the Texas Gulf Coast 14 years now, and this is the first year, that I can remember anyway, that we've had leaves on trees in our yard change colors and have actual real Fall temps. It's great!
I never got into Harry Potter or Game of Thrones either, but I did enjoy Lord of the Rings.
Have a blessed weekend!
I like your idea of calling it shopping Friday! I don't like crowds so usually don't go shopping on Shopping Friday, but I know lots of people get lots of deals!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
My pet peeve at this time of year is all the marketing for Christmas. About #4, I could never get into fantasy. Love the photo of beautiful Angel :-) Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteGreat answers! I am not a fan of the cold either. It's why we live in the south where we have never seen a snow shovel in real life. LOL! Make room on the bandwagon because I am right beside you and adding StarWars to your list. Have a fun weekend.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you. Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter..just, nah.
ReplyDeleteCute little angel toes.
ReplyDeleteGood fill-ins. Black Friday means it's time to avoid all shopping until the craziness ends. I know next to nothing about Harry Potter and Game of Thrones. I saw a Lord of the Rings movie and it was just Long, Really Long.
We don't think anypawdy out on black furiday's really happy. We've not done it ourselves, but we've seen the mews, and those hoardes and the peeps workin' don't look very happy to us. We think black as the night describes it purretty well. MOL We could be your reason fur livin' in the South. Wouldn't that be a good one? Big hugs
ReplyDeleteLuv ya'

Hi. I Loved reading your answers.
ReplyDeleteHappy to say my son has found a darling kitten and will likely adopt this week. HE's a 6 month old ginger boy and he's confident and loving at the same time. Hooray for kittens. Hooray for him for trying an older cat first with foster. Its ok. THis match seems purrfect. WIll let you know
Hello, friends! Thank you for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins! I had actually never thought twice about the name Black Friday, but now that you mention it, that really does sound quite morbid. I myself don't partake in the shopping, but I still think a name change wouldn't hurt. And I hear you on this cold weather. I do enjoy the sight of pure white snow, and I actually do always hope for a white Christmas, but past that, it's just too cold! I myself am very much a fantasy nerd, mostly thanks to my dad. The Hobbit was one of the bedtime stories he read to me as a kid, and I was hooked from then on. Warm wishes!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Harry Potter, etc. Cannot sit all the way through those films. They bore me, even though I don't mind some fantasy films/shows.
ReplyDeleteI know I'm in the minority but I quite like the cold and winter. I suppose it's because I'm used to it living in England. It's not so cold now, but when I was younger it was very cold!
