January 29, 2025 is the Lunar New Year, and the beginning of the Year of the Snake.
Traits of the Snake zodiac sign, those born in the years:
2025 2013 2001 1989 1977 1965 1953 1941 1929 1917 1905
Wisdom, charm, and strong intuition.
They usually think things through thoroughly, prefer to keep matters private, and are understanding and caring about others.
WARNING:
Snake pics ahead, for those of you who scream EEK!
Bull Snake (not venomous) that I'd encountered at a local fair. |
A wee little Milk Snake (not venomous) who came out to visit while shopping at a wildflower nursery. |
Timber Rattlesnake, (yeah, very venomous!) at the Toledo Zoo, Ohio, behind a thick piece of glass. |
I have no problems with snakes, but spiders...I'll run a mile to get away from a spider!
In addition, January 29 is National Puzzle Day.
Am an avid fan of online jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles (although I'm crap at them!), and sudoku (also crap at them).
Also enjoy mystery novels, and appreciate an author who can keep me guessing.
Here's a jigsaw puzzle of Henry, artified by Prisma, for your entertainment on this holiday:

Look at that baby face...
Great colorful artwork on the Henry's selfie. And I love snakes and when I'm riding my bicycle I just have to stop and make sure they get across the path before someone kills them. Other people see me and they go running the other way screaming and that's fine with me
ReplyDeleteWhen I read 'snakes', I think of snakes-and-ladders. Do you recall that game? We used to have an old board for that, from the 1930s or '20s, I think. Long gone, unfortunately. Sigh.
ReplyDeletejohn, that's chutes and ladders, dee mum had that game. Honey sunshine was a yeer ov dee snake baby.
ReplyDeleteI think the game was Snakes & Ladders in other countries, but Chutes and Ladders in the good ol' USofA.
DeleteI dont think there's.... anything...that could get me to hold that snake...in pic one...any thing ~~~ !!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year. Beautiful shots.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day and rest of the week. Scritches to the kitties. ♥
"Gong hei fat choy!" Both our Mom and our human Brother Alex are Snakes! Mom says she is supposed to have "life changing opportunities" this year...we think enough "life changing" has happened in this year and we just want peace and quiet! We have not done a jigsaw in a long time we shall have to take some time and do one today. Thanks for visiting and enjoy the snakes!
ReplyDeleteMarvelous Marv and Mom Barb
I don't like snakes or spiders. Flynn used to bring me back baby vipers ( our only venomous snake) and one day he brought an adult one back with him. I wasn't impressed but still managed to tell him he was a clever boy.
ReplyDeleteMom is a Snakey too. She didn't know it till today. Spiders are not what I want touch but I don't freak over them. Snakes either.
ReplyDeleteHenry DOES have a seat baby face. Smoochies straight to him.
ReplyDeleteSWEET baby face.
DeleteHappy Year of the Snake! Hey, I'm with you on the spider thing...RUN!
ReplyDeleteMy mom and hubby are snakes. I am a rooster. Beautiful puzzle- thank you. xo
ReplyDeleteHappy Year of the Snake! And thanks for the awesome puzzle of Henry! XO
ReplyDeleteIt seems like snaky kind of year
ReplyDeleteWe've had pet snakes, they're cool. As for spiders, be nice to them, they eat the icky bugs and are always welcome here.
ReplyDeleteI like snakes, too...no venomous ones in our part of Michigan, thankfully...
ReplyDeleteI am not scared of them, taken aback, perhaps, but not frightened by them. If they are in my yard, mostly the common garden snake and sometimes blue racers, I 'herd' them to safety, because B & D would kill them given a chance.
