Sleepless

March 8 is International Women's Day!

~~~
For some of us, March 8 is the beginning of Daylight Saving Time, when we lose an hour.
Yes, cutie kitten...you'll be fed an hour early.
And of course, Canada is beginning to end this needless time change:
~~~
In honor of Sunday Selfies, here is a gentle giant of a doggo, who visited me while on my 'hood walk.

Since there are flowers in her fur, am guessing that she dressed up for International Women's Day.

Backwards

Daylight Saving Time Ends @ 2 am on 11/2 here in Michigan.

We gain back the hour that was ripped away from us on 3/9.

A few chuckles to honor this rather stupid ritual:

Saving?

Eastern Standard Time changed to Eastern Daylight Time at 2 am, Sunday 10 March.

OH NOES!!!!
Disclaimer:
No cat was harmed in the making of this time change.

In fact, they were delighted to get their breakfast EARLY.

The humans, however, are mumbling under their breaths about lack of sleep.

But What Do We Really Gain?🕑

For some of us, we get back the hour lost when Daylight Saving Time began.

A list of countries who end Daylight Saving Time today:

Bahamas
 Bermuda
 Canada, except Yukon, most of Saskatchewan, and parts of British Columbia (northeast), Nunavut (Southampton Island), Ontario (Atikokan) and Quebec (Le Golfe-du-Saint-Laurent)
 Greenland: Pituffik Space Base
 Haiti
 Mexico: Baja California, and municipalities near the U.S. border except in Sonora
 Saint Pierre and Miquelon
 Turks and Caicos Islands
 United States, except Arizona (without Navajo Nation), Hawaii and U.S. territories
Cuba

For Da Boyz and Sweetie, we will gradually push their meal time back, as there is NO WAY we can just not feed them for an hour!

However, I may get an extra hour of reading in.

National Napping Day

In 1999, William Anthony, a psychologist and author of "The Art of Napping", instituted National Napping Day.

William said: “We figured this would be a good day to celebrate the importance of napping because everyone is one hour more sleep-deprived than usual.

The fact is that the majority of Americans are sleep-deprived even without Daylight Saving Time."

Humans can learn from our cats!

Have a nice snooze!

Ahead...

For some of us, the clocks skipped an hour early this morning.
Images copied from social media and used solely for the entertainment of our readers.
Of course, Da Boyz and Sweetie were more than happy to be fed an hour early.

The humans are lagging a bit, however...
